All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/tx/txfiles.htm ************************************************ LOCKLIN, Jackson Wyatt Oct 10, 2002 Jackson Wyatt Locklin, 82, of Cedar Park died Oct. 10, 2002 after a lengthy battle with cancer. A memorial service was held Oct. 13 at First Baptist Church in Thorndale. He was born in Thorndale Dec. 9, 1919 to Clifford and Billie Locklin. He graduated from Thorndale High School in 1937 where he was an outstanding halfback for the Bulldogs. Locklin volunteered for the U.S. Navy shortly after Pearl Harbor and served in the South Pacific during World War II being honorably discharged in 1945 with a rank of Pharmacist Mate First Class. He worked at the US Post Office in Corpus Christi between World War II and the Korean War. He served in the US Navy Reserve being recalled into service in 1950 and was in the invasion of Inchon, Korea. Locklin also worked for Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle, Wash. for 20 years and was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Thorndale. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother C.E. Locklin. He is survived by brother Allen Locklin and wife Nancy of Tyler. Memorials may be sent to the Locklin Cemetery, P.O.
