All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/tx/txfiles.htm ************************************************** SANDERSON, Oscar Jr. Jul 27, 2002 TAYLOR–Funeral services for Oscar "Sandy" Sanderson Jr. of Thorndale were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at San Gabriel Christian Church with the Rev. Robert Wimp and the Rev. Ray Barron officiating. Burial followed in Locklin Cemetery. He died July 27, 2002 at the age of 74 days, 11 months and 27 days. Mr. Sanderson was born in College Place, Washington July 31, 1927, the son of Oscar B. and Gladys (Loewe) Sanderson. Upon graduation from Walla Walla High School, he joined the U.S. Navy, about the close of World War II. He served his country for 22 years aboard several sailing vessels during the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict. In 1969, he retired from the Navy and moved to Dallas, where he worked in building maintenance for the City of Richardson. Retiring again in 1994, he moved to Thorndale, where he lived at the time of his death. Mr. Sanderson was married to Celine Cypert in Dallas August 16, 1969. He was a member of San Gabriel Christian Church and loved to bowl and after moving to Thorndale, bowled regularly twice a week until two months prior to his death. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, Iola Ruth and a brother, Sheldon B. Survivors are: His wife, Celine Sanderson; sons, Ronald Dean Sanderson and wife Robin of Pittsburgh and Tommy Joe Sanderson and wife Bronwyn of Austin; daughter, Nannette Sanderson of Thorndale; grandchildren, Gabriel Sanderson, Benjamin Sanderson, Mark Randall Sanderson, Rachael Morgan Sanderson, Thomas Woodrow Sanderson and Myranda Nicole Sanderson; three great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Sanderson and wife Donna and sister, Janice Aichele and husband Ervin, all of Walla Walla, Washington; numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
