Wadlington, 87, of Forest Grove were held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2001, at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Jim Platt officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Mr. Wadlington died Tuesday, March 27, in Rockdale. He was born Sept. 23, 1913, in Milano to Charlie and Alberta (Price) Wadlington. He lived in Milano and Sand Grove in Milam County until 1950. He then moved and lived in the Forest Grove community until his death. On June 9, 1949, Mr. Wadlington married Doris Luetge in St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Austin. A farmer and rancher, his specialty was growing green and ripe tomatoes for market. He attended school at Sand Grove and was a member of Forest Grove Christian Church. Mr. Wadlington was veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army and receiving a Five-Star Battle Pen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Alberta Wadlington; a son, Randal Wadlington; two brothers, Orville and Carman (Dink) Wadlington; a sister, Ruth Wadlington Mullins; a granddaughter, Trista Wadlington; and twin infant grandsons. Survivors are his wife, Doris Wadlington of Rockdale; three sons, Gary Wadlington, Charles Wadlington and wife Sheila, and Carman Wadlington, all of Rockdale; two daughters, Karen Taylor and husband David of Caldwell and Dana Fatheree and husband Mark of Rockdale; eight grandchildren, Charles Henry Wadlington Jr., James Dean Parker Jr., Harlan Parker, Jordan Fatheree, Torin (Wadlington) Morgan and husband Scott, Stacy (Parker) McDonald and husband Kelly, Kayla Wadlington and Josephine Parker; and three great-grandchildren, Travis and Carlee Morgan and Alexis McDonald. Pallbearers were Clyde Luetge, Charlie Coleman, Bennie Earl Wadlington, Larry Wadlington, Scott Morgan and Rudolph Schneebeli. Honorary pallbearers were Jordan Fatheree, James Dean Parker Jr., Charles Henry Wadlington Jr. and Harlan Parker.
