The Cemetery lies on the North side of FM 677. Many stones are busted or laying flat on ground. Neglected and grown over for years, this cemetery is now very well maintained. 20 graves were unreadable or just the base of stones remains. One fenced plot contains enough room for atleast 8 graves, but only two remnants of large stones are visible. Both flat on ground and unreadable. Another fenced plot contains one grave , no stone remains. The Hales are fenced in with the bases of two other stones. This is a complete survey of readable stones as of 09 May 2004. Surveyed by Larry Wolfenbarger on 09 May 2004. Note: In 1872 Capt. Joseph Anderson Howell and Irby Holt Boggess purchased a 640 acre tract of land out of the Alan Kitchen Survey. This tract contained much of the previously established settlement of Head of Elm. In August 1873 they surveyed and laid out a townsite. Irby Holt Boggess erected the first permanent building ,the Stonewall Saloon in 1873 . It still stands today as a Museum. Nearly every family buried here in this cemetery are Saint Jo's early pioneer settlers. ====================================================================== NAME BIRTH DEATH NOTES ====================================================================== Allen,Leslie ??
