WALKER. MRS. J. J. MCCARTY of Belinda, New Mexico is visiting her sister MRS. H. N. SIMMONS. Mr. and Mrs. SELMA CLEMENTS and family of Hollis, Oklahoma visited in Nocona and Bowie. JACK MILLER has been transferred to Scott Field, Illinois to be trained as a radio specialist. Corporal MELVIN COOK, who has been on furlough visiting his parents in Nocona, returned to San Diego, California. Mrs. J. M. BARNET is visiting Mrs. SELMA CUMMINS and family at Hollis, Okla. PLEASIE BUCK and wife, formerly MISS PRIEST, returned to Adrian, Texas. MISS JIMMIE PRIEST returned to Austin College at Sherman after visiting her mother MRS. EULA PRIEST and sister MRS. ANNIE MAE BAGWELL. Mr. and Mrs. WELDON COWAN and children of Wichita Falls spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. M. ALLISON. MISS CAMPBELL ALLISON of Wichita Falls spent the weekend here with her parents. MRS. GAYLE REED of Grand Prairie is visiting her mother MRS. F. B. NELSON in Nocona. MRS. F. H. MILSON is visiting her husband who is employed at Pecos, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. WAYNE JOHNSON and son LARRY of Amarillo will spend the weekend in Nocona with his parents and her sister MRS. BASIL GIST. MRS. BUSTER HARRISON of Amarillo visited her parents in Spanish Fort. CLARENCE MANLEY in the Coast Guard is expected home on a furlough. MRS. JESSE D. WOODS is in Dallas. Local MERLIN BONDS of Austin spent the weekend in Nocona with his sister MRS. JIM ELLIOTT and family. P. R. BONDS and son BOBBY of Fort Worth visited her sister MRS. JIM ELLIOTT. DOT HILL’S son was taken to the Rogers hospital in Decatur Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. LOVETT visited at Wichita Falls. DANE HUTCHINS is ill. MISS MACKALYN THRASHER, attending John Tarleton College at Stephenville, will spend the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. MACK THRASHER. Mr. and Mrs. GEORGE PATRICK and little daughter LINDA of Wichita Falls visited the home of T. R. STUMP. MRS. RAYMOND MCCARTY of Wilson, Oklahoma visited MRS. PHIL LESH here in Nocona. BILL LEONARD Jr. and HORACE PAINE of Camp Polk, Louisiana are home on a furlough. T. CRIBBS. ROBERT G. SLAGLE was transferred from Sheppard Field to Santa Monica, California. Mr. and Mrs. ROBERT GORDON and son WENDELL visited his parents at Saint Jo. MISS LETA JO PERRY and BOB FOOTE of Dallas visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. L. PERRY. MRS. GEORGE R. SLAGLE and daughter AUDRA MAE visited in Wichita Falls. Staff Sergeant W. M. Mr. and Mrs. LON FULSOM of Gladewater spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. CAD MCCALL. Mr. and Mrs. JAMES MCCALL entertained Mr. and Mrs. CAD MCCALL and Mr. and Mrs. LON FULSOM of Gladewater. Last Rites for HARRY NORTON MCGEE Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Nov. 4 at the Church of Christ in Belcherville for HARRY NORTON MCGEE, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3. Services were conducted by Bro. E. B. WALLACE and interment was made in the Hopewell Cemetery, arranged by Daugherty Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were MIKE MCGEE, MARK DAVIS, DONALD PRATER, C. C. BLAIR, JOHN PRATER, and TED GREGORY. Honorary bearers were P. D. KENNEDY, B. MONROE JARVSI, LONNIE JARVIS, BEN KING, M. P. WEATHERFORD, BEN DAVIS, HARDY SEAY, Mr. HAWKINS, Mr. HARRELL, Mr. DIXON, Mr. TULLIE and Mr. BROOKS. Mr. McGee was born February 22, 1901 and joined the church at age 12. He married MISS RUTH WISDOM at Wichita Falls Sept. 18, 1922. Survivors are his wife, four children: LOUIS VIRGIL, NELL ELIZABETH, CHRISTINE FAY, and WILMA JOY MCGEE, his father W. A. MCGEE of Bellevue, three sisters: MRS. WILMER DEAN of Bellevue, MRS. LESS HOGLAND and MRS. KENNETH MAYO of Wichita Falls. MRS. J. P. HUMPHRIES is visiting her sister in Henrietta. She will visit her son G. W. HUMPHREYS and family on Sunday. MRS. RAYMOND MCCARTY of Wilson, Oklahoma and MRS. PHIL LESH spent Tuesday in Wichita Falls. MRS. JOHNNY PACE and MRS. W. F. BRODAY of Dallas spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. PHIL LESH. JESSE D. WOODS had an operation on his eyes in Dallas. MRS. O. M. ALLISON received word that her son O. M. Jr. was promoted to sergeant. Mr. and Mrs. DOYLE GOSS of Temple, Oklahoma visited Mr. and Mrs. J. J. WALKER and Mr. and Mrs. ROYAL GOSS. MISS SADIE WALKER visited her sister MRS. NEWT SEWELL at Ringgold. Private NEWELL TUCKER of Sheppard Field visited relatives in Nocona. MRS. O. M. MOLSBEE and MRS. CECIL VAUGHN visited Mrs. Molsbee’s son Private OLIN MOLSBEE at Fort Worth. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. LEONARD WALSER was buried in the Belcherville Cemetery Oct. 29, interment by Daugherty funeral directors. MRS. J. C. STRICKLAND of Portland, Oregon returned to Nocona to live with her mother MRS. DOT TOWNSEND for the duration. Her husband enlisted in the Army at Duncan, Oklahoma. Born to Mr. and Mrs. TROY HILLIARD, Oct. 29, a baby girl, PATRICIA ANN. GROVER C. HOWARD Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the Center Point Baptist Church for GROVER C. HOWARD, who passed away Nov. 2 at his home in Bonita. Services were conduced by Rev. ROY LEE COOK and interment was made in the Center Point Cemetery, arranged by Scott Bros. Mr. Howard came to Texas when he was 13 years old and spent his life at Bonita. He married FANNIE LANGFORD in 1910. He converted in 1936. Survivors are his wife, four children, MRS. LUCIAN VAUGHN of Illinois Bend, OTIS HOWARD, BONNIE and DOROTHY HOWARD, all of Bonita; five brothers including J. S. HOWARD of Choctaw, Oklahoma and G. G. HOWARD of Aspremont; five sisters MRS. E. S. HOWARD of Bonita, MRS. HIRAM GUY of Abilene, MRS. S. MILLER of Verden, Oklahoma, MRS. CARL FOSTER of Stamford, MRS. IVA HARRIS of Seattle, Wash. Pallbearers were W. D. REED, J. E. LANGFORD, JOHN LATHAM, E. E. AYRES, J. S. DOSHIER and M. D. ELLIS. Local MISS MARY GEORGE left to visit at Salt Lake City, Utah. Born to Mr. and Mrs. BIRL KILPATRICK, a son, Nov. 4. MRS. A. A. SWANSON, MRS. CHARLIE CLEMENTS, and MRS. GRADY CHUPP were at Dallas. MRS. HARRY WHITMAN had the flu. MISS JUNE SMITH of Longview is visiting her sister MRS. JACK FOSTER. ROBBIE TAYLOR of Paris is visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. W. C. TAYLOR. RUPERT A. TAYLOR, who is stationed at Norman, Oklahoma, and Mrs. TAYLOR, who is teaching school at Amarillo, visited her parents Mr. ad Mrs. JOHN HENRY near Belcherville. MRS. W. E. ROBERTS of Levelland is visiting her daughter MRS. J. C. HENRY. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. HENRY are the proud parents of a baby girl, LANA RAE, born Friday, OCT. 30 at the Rogers hospital in Decatur. They were brought home in an ambulance. MRS. JOHN WOOD and son JOHNNIE spent the weekend in Fort Worth visiting her daughters ORA WAYNE and ELENE who are attending T.C.U. Mr. and Mrs. W. T. CRIBBS and Mr. and Mrs. L. W. ANDERSON of Grapevine were in Wichita Falls. Mr. and Mrs. HASKELL HARRIS of Duncan, Oklahoma visited Mr. and Mrs. DEWEY HOLCOMB. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. THOMPSON and son JAMES of Kilgore visited her mother MRS. J. T. GWALTNEY and sister MRS. A L. DANIELS. MRS. PAUL HENDERSON and her mother MRS. RODEN and MRS. R. TURNER were in Wichita Falls. MRS. F. L. PERRY and MRS. C. E. FRAILEY were in Denton visiting their daughters who attend school there. MISS BEVERLY FRAILEY returned with them. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. ANDERSON of Grapevine are visiting Mr. and Mrs. W. T. CRIBBS. Mr. and Mrs. JAMES PRIBBLE of Austin stopped over in Nocona to visit relatives. They are en route to Texarkana where he has a government contract. FRED WILSON, who was burned severely three weeks ago, was taken by ambulance to Wichita Falls to the hospital for skin grafting. H. D. FIELDS of Saint Jo, who has many friends here, was taken by ambulance for a major operation.
