June 2, 1944 WILLIAM HENRY PRATER Funeral services for WILLIAM HENRY PRATER were held Sunday afternoon from the First Methodist Church, with Rev. KIRK M. BEARD officiating, assisted by W. T. HAMILTON of the Church of Christ. Mr. Prater passed away in a local hospital after a long illness. He was born in Dallas County April 29, 1893, and 38 years ago, came to Bowie where he was a well known farmer. He is survived by his widow, ANNA RATLIFF PRATER, and children,: SGT. HAROLD PRATER of San Marcos, MRS. CHRISTINE CANON of Calumet, Oklahoma, LT. GLENN RATLIFF PRATER of Langley Field, Virginia, MISS MARY EDITH PRATER of Dallas, MISS MINNEALETHA PRATER of Dallas, PAUL, HENRY, JO DAVID, and ANNA LOU PRATER all of Bowie; seven brothers: ED PRATER of Fort Worth, JIM PRATER of Lawton, Okla., O. H. PRATER, LEE PRATER, and LONNIE PRATER all of California; ELIJAH PRATER of Lubbock; two sisters MRS. MATTIE NELSON of Oklahoma City and MRS. LOU MANSFIELD of Borger. Pallbearers were BOB WISE, GORDON CADY, FLAG BAKER, WINFIELD SCOTT, REX CALAWAY, and LYN GARLINGTON. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery arranged by Burgess Funeral Home. Those from out of town attending were: Mr. and Mrs. J. R. PRATER of Kansas City, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. FRANK NELSON of Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. LEONARD GALBRAITH and daughter of Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. O. H. PRATER of Richmond, Calif., ELIJAH PRATER of Lubbock, E. H. PRATER, Mr. and Mrs. CLAYTON PRATER and son, and Mr. and Mrs. C. C. YOUNG and daughter of Fort Worth, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. COLLINS and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. FULLERTON and MRS. BETTY YOUNG of Wichita Falls, JIM PRATER of Lawton, Okla., MRS. BILLIE HAWKINS of Dallas, R. R. BRAND of Dallas, J. D. RATLIFF of Grapevine, Mr. and Mrs. IVEY SIDES of Wichita Falls, MRS. WILLIAM HAROLD PRATER of New Braunfels, and T-SGT. JOHN L. CANON of Calumet, Oklahoma.
