Thursday, October 31, 1935 MISS MARIAM YARBROUGH attended the football game at Nocona. She was the guest of her cousins MISSES PHYLLIS and JANE LESH during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. MURPH and son CLYDE of Wichita Falls were guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. HEARD. MRS. J. T. HALL returned home after visiting her son who teaches at Azle. Mrs. Hall plans to make her home there soon. J. K. HUNTER attended the county judge and commissioners convention at San Antonio. MISS ESTER BROOK, who was staying with MRS. ARON MILLER, went to spend the winter at Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. IRONS had business at Wichita Falls. MRS. M. J. BELL of Wichita Falls was the guest of MRS. R. CALAWAY at the Chamber of Commerce banquet. MRS. DAVID WARREN, MRS. W. R. POTTER and MRS. JOHN B. HUNT attended the intercounty federation meeting at Wichita Falls. MRS. MACK WINN and son GEORGE, MRS. L. LACKEY and daughter MINA MAE had business at Wichita Falls. DAN LEE STALLINGS is now employed with BOB WHITE at a filling station in Henrietta. R D. DUNNAM had business at Ranger. MISS HAZEL FARRIS of Mountain View, Oklahoma is visiting her sister MRS. DALE EALES. MRS. W. R. POTTER went to give a book review before a club at Bridgeport. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. MCNATT announce the arrival of a 7 pound son Monday morning, Oct. 28, named STEVEN CLARK MCNATT. MRS. H. H. GIBSON of Rotan is visiting her aunt MRS. I. L. CHANDLER. MISS LORENA GAMBILL of Fort Worth and WALTER BUIS of Cleburne visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. N. GAMBILL. E. E. MCCONNELL of Sunset brought a number of his paintings to Bowie when he delivered one to MRS. RENNE ALLRED which she had bought. Mr. ad Mr. S. W. REAVES, J. D. REAVES, and JOE KAMPSEY of Shannon were here to visit GEORGE REAVES, also of Shannon who is in the Bowie Hospital for appendicitis operation. MISS FANNIE MAE BAIL, who is teaching at Olney, came home for the weekend. Miss Bail and MISS FLOYCE CHANDLER went to Denton. DR. E. W. WRIGHT, chairman of the State Board of Health, attended a meeting at Austin. MRS. H. L. MAYHUGH and son H. L. Jr., who was born Thursday evening, Oct.24 at the Bowie hospital, returned home to Hastings, Oklahoma. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. SOUTHERLAND announce the arrival of a son born to them Friday, Oct. 25. GILMORE returned from a visit in the Panhandle. MRS. RUBY SCHRAM of Morton visited here. Mr. and Mrs. JONES BARRETT of Ryan visited her sister MRS. CARLTON here. Mr. and Mrs. ROY STINE returned from San Antonio. MRS. W. D. CARMICHAEL was hostess to the Friday Bridge club. MRS. STEVE MELTON won high score and MRS. PHILLIPS the cut prize. On Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. SAM BOREN served their first meals to the public, having opened a café on Main Street. Personal Mention When MRS. B. E. WATSON of Bowie and Mr. and Mrs. H. F. WATSON of Fort Worth were in Austin during the weekend visiting STEWART WATSON who is attending U. T., they attended the Texas and Louisiana Centinary football game. Some of the students from Bowie, whom they saw, were LUDOLPH GREENWOOD, DOBKINS EGAN, CLFFORD WAGONER, and MISS BETTY GREEN. Then the trio went to San Antonio and Corpus Christi where fished in the Christi bay. Mrs. Watson was the first to catch a fish called a gafftopsail catfish. MRS. J. D. KILPATRCIK of Burkburnett visited her son C. H. KILPATRICK and family. R. E. LEE of Dallas visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. CHARLEY KING. LEWIS HAMILTON of Denton visited his parents for the weekend. MRS. J. P. DOUGHTY and daughter MISS ANNA DOUGHTY visited at Sunset. MRS. DON BIGGERSTAFF was in Wichita Falls. Rev. BERT B. HALL and Mrs. Hall of Honey Grove visited MRS. T. R. PIERCE. JOHN LOWERY and BOB CROWDER were in town Monday. DOUGLAS DENMAN of San Pedro, California, visiting his mother, MRS. J. W. IVEY, went to Ranger to visit his brother before returning to San Pedro. His brother EDWARD DENMAN visited here then returned to Crane where he has oil interests. FRANK MOSS was attended the legislature at Austin. MRS. ALICE BOYLE of Wichita Falls visited here. MRS. DONALD MANN left to begin her work as state inspector of beauty salons. She has the Fort Worth district of 11 counties. Mr. and Mrs. JACK WORTHY went to Fort Worth. MISS FAYE COOK returned from visiting her aunt at Wichita Falls. MISS MARGARET VIRGINIA HALL of Fort Worth visited her mother MRS. J. T. HALL. Mr. and Mrs. LOUIS JOHNSON of Houston were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. GAYLE BRADLEY. Mr. and Mrs. JOE OVERSTREET of Dallas were guests of Mr. and Mrs. GAYLE BRADLEY. Mr. and Mrs. ROBERT WHITE and little daughter RETA JUNE of Henrietta visited here. MISSES OPAL and LUCILLE JACKSON, attending N.T.S.T.C. at Denton, visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. DOC JACKSON. MISS BONNIE RUTH DAVIS of Fort Worth was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. DAVID SEITZ. MRS. CHARLES MILER and little daughter of Fort Worth visited here. M. G. WOOLF was in Vernon on business. Mr. and Mrs. M. V. MITCHELL were guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. HEARD. Mr. and Mrs. M. POSEY went to Wichita Falls to attend the Methodist Conference. Mr. and Mrs. B. F. WILHITE and children and MRS. J. V. PROCTER and children of Grand Saline visited relatives here. C. H. HUTH and MISS HAZEL BAKER of San Jose, California went to Fort Worth where they were guests of their cousin, MISS DOROTHY WILHITE. Mr. and Mrs. BILL DEUT of Galveston announce the birth of a 4 lb. 12 oz. daughter, CAROLYN RUTH, born to them this week. She was formerly MISS NAOMI ELKINS. Mr. and Mrs. JOHN B. HUNT were at Olney. CURLEE attended the Montague Baptist Association meeting at Valley View. LORENE GOODMAN, a teacher at Forestburg, visited at Bowie. P. S. STALLINGS and son JACK of Archer City were here on business. MRS. J. S. OVERSTREET and son TROY of Ryan, Okla., and MRS. MERLE WALKER of Oklahoma City visited MRS. EULA COOKE. MRS. A. M. LATHAM’S aunt, MRS. M I. NEEL of Boonville, visited here. Mrs. LATHAM’S mother, MRS. M. E. MURPHEY of Ryan, will soon come for several months to visit Mrs. Latham. P. H. REDDY, postmaster at Stoneburg, was in Bowie on business. WOODROW ANTHONY, DOUGLAS DENMAN, JACK OLIVER, MISSES ESSIE HUDSON and CHLOE STEPHENS went to Wichita Falls to visit CHARLES ROSS who is attending Draughon’s Business College. Mesdames W. E. BENSON, J. A. BRITE, WALTER EVANS, A. I. DAVIES, and ESCHENBERG went to Wichita Falls to visit MRS. C. R. MORGAN who had a serious operation there. JACK OLIVER and WELDON ANDERSON visited friends in Fort Worth. Mr. and Mrs. BEN O. COLLINS of Alvord were guests of Mr. and Mrs. DAVID SEITZ. MRS. A. W. CLINE had business at Wichita Falls.
