WILIE MAE THOMPSON, who has attended the Bowie Schools, is moving to Henrietta to enter school. Alamo Youth Buried Saturday at Salona Funeral service for J. D. STARR, age 14, of the Alamo community, who died a local hospital Jan. 25, was held at the Salona Church January 26 with Rev. A. C. TURNER of the First Baptist Church of Bowie officiating. Interment was at Salona. He is survived by his mother and several brothers and sisters. Ringgold News MRS. STEVE MELTON has been sick. MRS. ANNE E. DOSS of Dallas is visiting Mr. and Mrs. W. G. HAWKINS Sr. MIS ALICE LOWE was hostess to the Friday Bridge. Mrs. M. PHILLIPS was high score and MRS. BRYAN DURAN of Terral, Okla., won the cut prize. MRS. ROY STINE and MRS. OTIS YOUNG were in Montague. MRS. W. G. HAWKINS and daughter MARY NELL accompanied by MRS. HORACE YOUNG, OTIS YOUNG, and HOWARD YOUNG attended the funeral of MISS ROSS at Bowie. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. RUSHING and son WILLIAM EDWARD ALLEN visited in Bowie. Mr. and Mrs. FRED MAXEY visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. MYERS. MRS. W. W. ALLEN, formerly of Ringgold, who is spending the winter in New York, writes her friends that she is longing for sunny Texas. The Ringgold farm and home demonstration club will meet Thursday. MISS MARIE NEFF, home demonstration agent, will give instructions on mattress making. WILLIAM G. HAWKINS had business in Wichita Falls; he was accompanied by J. E. RUSHING. PAUL GEORGE resigned as teacher at Ringgold and accepted a position in the Henrietta school. Mr. RIDDLE of Glen Rose will fill the vacancy here. The Better Homes Club met with MRS. G. ELWERT. DR. E. E. CARLTON is seriously ill. Dr. PONTOR called from Fort Worth to see him. Rev. WARREN filled his regular appointment at the Methodist church. Alvord was defeated in basketball by the Ringgold Eagles. The Wichita Falls Rookeys defeated Ringgold here. LESSIE ROSS Funeral services for MISS LESSIE ROSS, 24, who died Thursday night following 24 hour illness of pneumonia, were conducted at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. O. ROSS Saturday afternoon, Rev. S. M. DUNMAN of the Methodist Church officiated, assisted by Rev. BERT B. HALL of Honey Grove, former pastor of the Methodist Church here, and Rev. J. T. HALL, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery. Miss Ross had lived in Bowie all of her life, a member of the Methodist Church, a member of the Eastern Star, and bookkeeper for the local Texaco Co. She was born June 1, 1910. FITZGERALD of Brinkman, Oklahoma. MRS. MINNIE HUTCHISON, MISS LERA TURNER and QUINTON PHILLIPS went to Seymour to attend the funeral of Mrs. Hutchison’s cousin, MISS MOZELLE STEVENS, who was killed in an automobile accident near Haskell Tuesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. EARL GREGORY and sons KENNETH and DAVID were in Wichita Falls. Mr. and Mrs. I. R. WHITE of Pampa are the guests of her grandmother MRS. F. E. FORD. HERSHEL TICE of Norwalk, California visited relatives here. He was called to Wichita Falls by the illness of his father, then came to Bowie to visit Mr. and Mrs. HARRY SPROULS and Mr. and Mrs. R. D. DUNHAM and family. Mr. and Mrs. O. Z. KILCREASE of Healdton, Oklahoma announce the arrival of a baby boy on Jan. 25. She is the former MISS VIDA SPEIR of this city. MRS. W. Z. SPIER is visiting her daughter and family. MRS. J. E. ST.CLAIR returned to Mineral Wells after visiting her sister MISS ARTIE BROWN. Mr. and Mrs. W. T. PENN and MRS. JOHNSON of Wichita Falls were Bowie visitors. LOUELLA ANDERSON, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. ARCH ANDERSON, went home from the Bowie hospital after recovering from pneumonia. JOHN B. CUMMINS of Dallas, formerly of here, visited here. MRS. ROY HUNTER of Hobart, Oklahoma came Tuesday to visit her son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. BILL HUNTER at the Scott Apartments. Mr. and Mrs. ROY QUISENBERRY and son Roy Jr. of Seymour visited at Bowie. Mr. and Mrs. RENNE ALLRED Sr. returned from Tyler where they visited their son RENNE ALLRED Jr. who has been ill.
