MILLARD WILSON of Brock, Oklahoma visited JOHN EDES, five miles northwest, who is very ill. J. F. DAVIDSON and MISS ODA ALLEN were married at the residence of HARY WRIGHT by R. D. LATHAM. CLAUD WRIGHT of Marysville spent Friday here with his brother HARRY. A son was born to HENRY L. DEAN and wife of Gordon Mountain, November 16, 1907. J. M. PAYNE, north of Muenster, spent Thanksgiving with the family of Prof. TALKINGTON. Go to R. F. SIMPSON’S for Pennsylvania Oil. LEE SINGLETON and wife left for Purcell, Oklahoma to make their home. G. S. ALEXANDER, near Bonita, was in town for a short time. A daughter was born to BERT (?) and wife of Bonita. MISS ROSE CHILDERS, who has been the guest of MISS HETTIE SLAUGHTER, left for her home at Abilene. E. M. BLACK of Ada, Oklahoma visited W. A. PHILLIPS, then went to Amarillo to accept a business position. A.MCCARTY(?) and wife are here in the interest of the Fraternal Brotherhood. They are making their home with W. D. HARRISON and wife. Dr. M. H. SCALES, father of MRS. E. F. ROSS / ROSE, wife of the proprietor of the Tribune, and of J. A. SCALES of this place, died Wednesday afternoon at his home in Prospect, 30 miles south of Henrietta, of heart failure. He would have been 70 years old the 5th of next March. His remains were brought here Thursday afternoon and today his funeral will be solemnized and interment in Mountain Park Cemetery. Dr. SCALES was a native of Tennessee and came to this state over 30 years ago. He practiced his profession in Bowie for twenty years. He is survived by his wife and six children, three sons and three daughters. MRS. J. B. CARMICHAEL, accompanied by her daughter MISS LIZZIE and little son EDWARD, went to Nocona to welcome her brother-in-law and his bride, who were married Wednesday at Chickasha, Oklahoma and on whose coming to Nocona, a reception was given at the home of MRS. J. L. CARMICHAEL, mother of the bridegroom. MRS. J. L. RICHIE / RITCHIE came from Sterrett, Oklahoma to visit the family of Mr. RICHIE / RITCHIE who lives on the old BROWDER place east of town. RAY SHULTS, wife and baby went to Waurika, Oklahoma where he will teach school for the winter term. A.F. WARREN went to Bulcher to visit his daughter MISS GERTRUDE who is teaching at the Eureka school a few miles east of there. DR. ARTHUR LEE was in town on his way to Illinois Bend from Denison where he accompanied Mrs. Lee who is visiting relatives there. 160 acres of fine land in Beaver Co., Oklahoma for $500. See MITCHELL-FOSTER Realty. MART KEERNS(?), wife and baby are here from Noble, Oklahoma to go to Illinois Bend to make their home. MRS. ALFRED REED and MISS IDA SALMON came from Nocona to visit DR. J. B. CARMICHAEL and family. Rev. H. M. CAGLE and J. K. P. WILLIAMS came from Bulcher where they held a series of meeting, then left for their respective homes at Collinsville and Sherman. DR. M. F. PATTERSON, formerly of Bonita now at Eschiti, Big Pasture, Oklahoma, visited here. MURPH WILLIAMS, who has been running the West Side Meat Market for several months, left Saint Jo with his family for his old home at Cumby. F. M. SAVAGE of Gainesville came from Roswell, New Mexico to go to Dye Mount where his wife and little daughter are visiting her mother and other relatives. T. J. COTHRAN came from Bowie to go to Forestburg where he and his wife are spending the winter with relatives. MRS. A. J. PATE(?) and two daughters ORA and NETTIE went to Wichita Falls to visit then go to Seymour to visit. MRS. T. J. PERYEAR returned from visiting her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. RABB / RABH who live at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. H. W. ROWE was here from Montague to visit friends and relatives. R. “BUD” POGUE, a few miles north of town, who went to Georgia to get married, returned Saturday with his bride. MISS DOVE BLEVINS came from Gainesville to visit her parents. MRS. J. E. TICE came from Ryan, Oklahoma to see SAM TICE near Mallard. Sheriff B. F. WATSON informed the Tribune that the man with GREER, who, a few weeks ago, sold a load of stolen seed at the WILLIAMS gin, was discovered the day after the transaction and arrested. His name is IRA GUILLIUMS. Greer is still at large since getting away from Deputy CUNNINGHAM at the Nocona depot. Thanks to the subscribers: L. F. COLLIER, G. B. WADE, W. G. GARRISON, C. S. CHANCEY, H. CAGLE, G. S. ALEXANDER, MINOR BOUNDS, D. P. BELL. Death of MRS. J. C. DOWD MRS. EMMA J. DOWD, wife of J. C. DOWD, died at Kerrville, Texas on Sunday, Nov. 17, 1907 of consumption. Her body was brought to Norman Monday, the funeral taking place from the Christian Church Tuesday morning, by Rev. MCCORKLE. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mrs. Dowd was in her 48th year and for years a sufferer from the dread disease…. She was a most estimable lady, devoted wife and mother… A husband and six children, four boys and two little girls, survive her. From the Norman Transcript at Norman, Oklahoma. J. C. DOWD is a brother of our D. L. DOWD and was a citizen of our town in its early days. W. S. JONES, wife and two children arrived from Commodore, Mississippi to visit the RICHIE family residing on the BROWDER place. WILL REAGIN came from Lawton, Oklahoma to visit the home of J. P. SLAUGHTER then left to visit at Gainesville. L.M. BART / BURT and wife arrived from Tarrant County to make their home here.
