J. S. HENDRICKS Funeral services for MRS. JULIA ANN HENDRICKS, 77, wife of J. S. HENDRICKS, were held at the Methodist Church Saturday afternoon, March 18 with Rev. EARL J. PATTON of Gainesville as the officiating minister, assisted by Rev. LEON MILNER, pastor of the local Methodist Church. Mrs. Hendricks died in the Gainesville Sanitarium on March 17 where she had been carried the day before, suffering with pneumonia. Pallbearers were HAROLD HENDRICKS, TRAVIS DEATON, ROY P. WILSON all of Gainesville, “PERK” LIGON of Bonham, JOHN WILSON of Greenville and WELDON HENDRICKS of Saint Jo, all grandsons of Mrs. Hendricks. Survivors include the husband, two daughters MRS. J. O. WILSON and MRS. LESTER PHILLIPS both of Saint Jo; four sons JOURNEY J. HENDRICKS of Gainesville, STARLING HENDRICKS of Dye Mound, WILLIAM and GILES HENDRICKS of Saint Jo; four brothers, DAVE DURHAM of Rector, Oklahoma, SAM DURHAM of Roff, Oklahoma, T. D. DURHAM of McKinney and JOHN DURHAM of Gainesville, 17 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. HENDRICKS, who before her marriage on April 18, 1880, was MISS JULIA ANN DURHAM, born in Tennessee July 7, 1861. Mr. and Mrs. Hendricks came to Texas in 1886 and have lived near Saint Jo for more than 50 years. 49 years ago, she joined the Methodist Church and remained a faithful member. A grand, sweet, gentle mother, a loyal wife has gone to her eternal home with the God she loved and served. New Name for Beauty Shop MISS OPAL PARKER, owner of the beauty shop at the back of Thompson’s Barber Shop, announces the new name “Forget-Me-Not Beauty Shop.” The name was submitted by MRS. FIELD G. HOOVER who won first prize. The second prize goes to MISS DORIS CLARK and the third to MRS. HILLARD HOFFMAN. MISS WILLODEAN ANDERSON of Whitewright, a licensed beautician, is operator at the shop. Miss Parker and Miss Anderson invite you to visit the shop and try their manicures, facials, permanents, etc. JOEL T. BRYANT JOEL T. BRYANT, member of one of Montague County pioneer families, died in St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City on March 17 following an illness of several weeks. The body was brought to Saint Jo and funeral services held Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. DAVIS on East Howell St. with Rev. P[AUL THOMPSON of the local Baptist Church officiating. Music was furnished by a quintet of MRS. C.E. CUNNINGHAM, MRS. LUKE GRANT, C. E. CUNNINGHAM, S. C. ROACH and T. C. DAVIS with MISS ALICE LAUDERDALE at the piano. Pallbearers were life long friends: LUKE GRANT, LUTEHR SLAUGHTER, S. C. ROACH, D. T. FARRIER, LEE HUSBAND and E. L.ANDERSON of Montague. JOEL THOMAS BRYANT was born 2 miles north of Saint Jo on November 18, 1876, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. BRYANT. He lived here more than 30 years and since leaving, made his home in Fort Worth and Gainesville. Of a happy carefree disposition and with an ever ready smile Joel numbered his friends in this small city and in any place he called home by each person with whom he was associated. Survivors include his daughter LANDI LOU BRYANT 8 at Gainesville, a sister MRS. ELLA NEWSOME at Oklahoma City, a half-sister MRS. G. C. DAVIS of Saint Jo; half brother T. M. HOWELL of Saint Jo; three nieces MRS. BERNIECE PIERCE RUFFER of Kilgore, MRS. WILMA PIERCE CAIN of Dallas, and MRS. JODELL PIERCE FIELD of Kermit. LEE of Denison; MISS THELMA ALDRIDGE of Spanish Fort; JOHN ALDRIEDGE and daughter, MRS. CLARENCE ELMORE of Alma, Oklahoma; MISS TEXANN ALDRIEDGE of Duncan, Oklahoma; LOUIS HOLLAND and E. L.ANDERSON of Montague; HOMER B. LATHAM of Bowie; MRS. LUCINDA BARKER and daughters, MRS. TERRAL FARQUHAR and MRS. JERRY LAWRENCE all of Nocona. Junior Play The Junior class with present their class play in the high school auditorium. Among the case: FRANCES LEE LAWSON, MARTHA JO WILSON, ATHA GRIGSBY, NOMA JEAN MELTON, MILDRED EMBRY, BLANCHE HAMMER, MELVIN HODGE, RAY MCLAUGHLIN, LOONEY MCGOWN, WAYNE O’NEAL, directed by MISS ANNETTE LOMBARDO. Illinois Bend F. O. MASTEN of Wellington visited his father W. C. MASTEN. MISS OPAL PARKER of Saint Jo visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. HOMER PARKER. Mr. and Mrs. MATNEY, WILL DOWD and W. D. DOWD were in Gainesville. Mrs. Matney had her arm set that she broke Sunday and Mr. Dowd visited a dentist. OTTO DOWD and daughter SUE ANN of Bulcher visited relatives here. MRS. MABLE FLEMING of Denton came to visit her children, Mr. and Mrs. WILLIS FLEMING. Mr. and Mrs. BOB FRAZIER of Marysville were Sunday guests of their daughter MRS. VIDA KING. Mr. and Mrs. ALLEN AGEE were in Nocona on business. LEO FLEMING of Denton visited Mr. and Mrs. WILLIS FLEMING. Mr. and Mrs. M. W. BUCK and family visited relatives at Bonita. Mr. and Mrs. B. R. DUNN, student at the junior college at Denton, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. DUNN.
