During this time there were used 5471 yards of material and 1736 garments produced. There has been employed an average of 16 women with a pay roll of $2780.32 for the seven months period. PERKINS Funeral services for MILLIE PERKINS, wife of W. H. PERKINS, was held at the Center Point Baptist Church Saturday, Aug. 26, arranged by Scott Bros. Mrs. Perkins was 45 years of age and a member of the Center Point Baptist Church for 30 years. Pallbearers were PETE HARRISON, MELVIN EDES, LEE JORDAN, JIM DOSHIER, HENRY REED and BERRY HUSBAND. Survivors include her husband, W. H. PERKINS, four daughters, MRS. MITCHELL, MARY NELL, WILLIE MAE and CARMAN, three sons BILLIE GENE, HERSCHEL GLEN and JAMES, her mother MRS. J. P. Mrs. Lynch is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. HORN on South Morris Street. He is a son of MRS. DESSIE TROOP of Denison, formerly of Gainesville and a grandson Of MRS. L. W. FLEENOR, 413 East Broadway. DAVIDSON-LAUDERDALE The marriage of MISS JACQUELINE LAUDERDALE to ROLAND W. DAVIDSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. DAVIDSON of Seagoville, took place here Sunday at 10 a.m. in the home of her parents. Montague County Girl Chosen as Gold Star Girl Gold star girls are selected on the basis of the work they have done and the leadership ability that has been recognized in them. Montague County is proud to recognized ISLETA COX for the 1938 Gold Star Girl. Isleta joined the 4-H Club when it was organized in Montague. During her first year as a 4-H Club girl, she made an apron which was judged one of the best made in the club. L. B. BESS L. B. BESS, son of Mr. and Mrs. BILL BESS of Dye Mound, died Sunday August 27, 1939 after being ill only a few days. Funeral services were held August 28 at the Church of Christ at Dye Mound with Elder JOHN RAYMOND officiating. Burial was in the Dye Mound cemetery arranged by E. N. Dunbar. Pallbearers were DURWOOD WILLIAMS, MORRIS LUMLEY, LTUERH and HOUGH MARTIN. Surviving are his parents, two sisters MYRTLE LORENE and BESSIE LOUISE, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. CLYDE BESS and Mr. WALTER LUMLEY, great-grandmother MRS. J. H. BESS. L. B. was born July 4, 1935 at the family home near Dye Mound. Crocker Infant The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. HORACE N. CROCKER died in a Wichita Falls hospital Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services were held at the home of the grandparents Mr. and Mrs. T. E. TARR, nine miles north of Saint Jo, conducted by Rev. J. CALVIN DENNIS. Interment was in the Coker Cemetery. Rev. MASON HOWELL visited his parents at Ryan, I. T. and took in the reunion at Nocona. JOHN KEITHLEY, the Katy RR check clerk at Wichita Falls, spent Sunday with his mother here. W. H. MABRY and son COLE and MART HEMPHILL left for an overland trip through the territory. GEORGE BROWN left for Mangum, Oklahoma to buy cotton for this season. W. E. SCOTT and J. L. BELLAH were in Nocona managing the gun shoot at the reunion. ARTHUR WHALEY returned from his ranch at Foster, I. T. where he has been for a few weeks. MRS. JOE ALDRIEDGE and two of her sons ERNEST and ROBERT left early this week for an overland trip through the Territory. MRS. J. D. EVANS of this city and MRS. JAMES BOSWELL of Dye Mound visited relatives at Brown, Oklahoma. JOHN BOWERS came from Forestburg and went to the Nocona reunion. LOUIS TALLANT and family returned from visiting relatives in Tarrant and Wise Counties. W. E. TOMME put a force of men to work in the Consolidated Oil Asphaltum and Mining Co. asphalt bed near town. MRS. LEACH returned from Dallas where her daughter MISS MAMIE was taken for treatment at the hospital. Saint Jo received her first bale of cotton of this year’s crop last Saturday afternoon, R. L. CABLE, who lives four or miles south of town on Clear Creek, brought 1550 pounds of seed cotton and had it ginned by MOORE Bros. & BERRY, making a bale of 505 pounds. He sold it to H. D. FIELD for 8 cents and received a premium of $10 cash. The second bale was brought in a few hours later by JEFF JONES, ginned by T. C. ANTHONY and weighed 427 pounds. Illinois Bend M. BUCK and O. CANNON had business at Montague. Mr. and Mrs. WILL DOWD and son W. D., and NORENE WILLIAMS returned from Turkey and Paducah, Texas. DEXTER DOWD accompanied his parents home from Turkey Creek where he had been with his sister MRS. CLAYTON HAM for several months. B. R. GRIGSBY made a business trip to Wichita Falls. MISS FRANCES KING of Denton visited EMMA LOU FLEMING. The first bale of cotton was ginned here Thursday, the cotton belonged to BAILEY DENNIS. Mr. and Mrs. FLOYD HARRIS and children and CHARLIE JOE HALL spent Sunday at Hardy. Rev. and Mrs. DILLARD and family of Gainesville spent Sunday with friends. MRS. CLIFF DOWD visited her mother MRS. T. J. MARTIN who is ill. Mr. and Mrs. TOM WILSON returned from visiting relatives in New Mexico. LUKE WHALEY and three sons of Duncan, I. T. visited relatives here. The following from here attended a reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. BROWN at Shady Grove community: MRS. MILTON BUCK and son CARLETON, Mr. and Mrs. WILL DOWD, OTTO DOWD and children, BILLY IRVING and SUE ANN. MAXEY DOWD and HOMER FRANKLIN had business at Montague. Mr. and Mrs. CARL WILSON are home from Peoria, Illinois where they visited relatives. MISS MARIE MCLAUGHLIN is home for a few days before entering school again at N.T.S.T.C. Dye Mound MRS. GEORGE SPEER accompanied by her daughter MRS. GRACE SAMPLES and granddaughter of Cement, Oklahoma spent Monday with their friends GRANDMA COLLIER and MRS.JOHNSON. On Tuesday they visited in home of Mrs. Speer’s granddaughter MRS. MELVIN LONG and family. MRS. HAZEL BERRYMAN and children of Archer City returned home after a visit here with her parents, MR. and Mrs. GEORGE UMBERSON and other relatives. We are sorry to report that GRANDMOTHER STAMFORD is very low, at the home of her daughter MRS. JAKE SEIBODL. Mr. and Mrs. ALVIN MARTIN left for Vandalia, Illinois where he is employed in the oil fields. Mr. and Mrs. HERMAN TOMPKINS and children DOROTHY and JIMMY came in from Denton to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. TOM TOMPKINS. MRS. MILDRED NORVELL and her nephews JOSEPH WIESE of Bowie visited the home in the home of their uncle Dr. H. N. WILSON at Montague. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. SLOAN had as weekend guest, her brother ERNEST CARTER and Mrs. Carter and family of Ringgold, also her mother MRS. ADA CARTER of Ryan, Oklahoma who remained for a longer visit. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. SLOAN Sr., and son H. A. Jr. and her mother MRS. ADA CARTER were in Gainesville. Mr. and Mrs. TOM TOMPKINS and little grandson CARROLL left to visit relatives in New Mexico. MISSES LUCILLE and NINA B. SMITH of Montague were here visiting their friends, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. SLOAN and family. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ Monday afternoon for the four year old son of Mr. and Mrs. BILL BESS, who had been ill only three days. Services were held by Bro. JOHN RAYMOND. Besides his parents, he leaves two sisters LONAINE and BESSIE MAE, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. CLYDE BESS and a host of other relatives. The Goodwill Club ladies gathered at the home of MRS. BUNK SAMPLES and quilted two quilts for Mrs. Samples. MISS LINA ANNE WIESE of Bowie is visiting here. Rev. N. B. HARALSON of Montague, former pastor of the Baptist Church here, preached here last Sunday to a large crowd. L. J. PILCHER spent Sunday with his friend J. W. NORVELL. Caps Corner Mr. and Mrs. JONA GRAVES of Lubbock visited their uncle L. SHANNON and Mrs. Shannon this week. ED LAWLER killed a rattlesnake in this back yard; it had eight rattles. Mr. and Mrs. BUD PICKETT of Electra visited her bother CHARLES STEPHENS and family. BILL TEAGUE visited his friend CHESTER JAMERSON Jr. GEORGE WOOD’S children with the assistance of their dog killed a rattlesnake in their front yard. The dog died from snake bite. It had seven rattles. Mr. and Mrs. GROVER BROWN spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. D. T. TEAGUE. Mr. and Mrs. BUD DENNIS spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. OTT DODGIN. Mr. and Mrs. GUY CANNON visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. JIM BLAKELEY of Bulcher. Those attending the fair were Messrs. and Mesdames CLARENCE O’NEAL, OLIN KING, PETE IRVING, IRA LAWLER, CLINTON MITCHELL, CUIN FRANKLIN, LYLE SAWYER, CLYDE BOYDSTON, L.
