N. DUNBAR was hostess to the Saint Jo Home Demonstration Club Friday afternoon. Attending were Mesdames GERTRUDE MITCHELL, C. H. DUNBAR, LUKE GRANT, C. E. CUNNINGHAM, T. C. DAVIS, WALTER HOOVER, J. LOUIS TOTTY Word was received here Wednesday of the death of LOUIS TOTTY, son of MRS. DELA TOTTY, former residents of Saint Jo. Louis died in Dallas Tuesday and funeral services were held at Rosston Thursday afternoon. JOE CRUMP Funeral rites for JOE BEVEDLEY CRUMP, age 38, who passed away at the Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Feb. 13, were held at the Presbyterian Church February 14 with Elder JNO. T. LAUDERDALE officiating, assisted by Rev. A. MCFEDREN and Rev. HYDE. Burial was in Mountain Park Cemetery arranged by Elder N. Dunbar, funeral director. He is survived by his wife and three daughters, JOSIE, JANE and SYBLE JEAN; two sisters MRS. CARRIE PAGEL of Muenster and MRS. NEW ANTHONY of Burkburnett; and one brother HENRY CRUMP of Saint Jo. He was born June 28, 1900 in Saint Jo and lived here all his life. He married SYBLE HURD of Saint Jo, October 7, 1922. He was a member of one of the oldest families of Saint Jo, his parents, Dr. and Mrs. J.G. CRUMP preceded him in death. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Saint Jo for many years. Serving as pallbearers were BIGE DAVIS, FRANK MITCHELL, ROY HARRY HUNDLEY, DOCK SADLEY. He became ill on Feb. 10 and was taken to the Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth where his condition became more serious as pneumonia developed. Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J. N. ANTHONY, Rev. HYDE, Mr. and Mrs. T. G. CAGE/GAGE all of Burkburnett; MRS. CARA PAGEL and daughters FLORENCE and FARGIE(?), MRS. ED WOLFE, JOE FISHER and JAKE PAGEL, all of Muenster; Mr. and Mrs. ED PARSON and son VIRGIL of Bonita; Mr. and Mrs. J. W. REDDY of Bowie; MRS. ROSA REDMAN and daughters, MRS. FLINT, all of Nocona; Mr. and Mrs. CRUMP and family of Fort Worth and ED ANDERSON of Montague. Saint Jo Youth Enlisted in Army HERBERT D. YATES of Saint Jo enlisted in the army at Oklahoma City and will be stationed at Fort Francis E. Warren, Wyoming. He was the first recruit from the Wichita Falls station since Nov. 22, all recruiting offices closed for enlistments until reopening Wednesday. MISS FLETA FAWKNER(?) of Gainesville was the guest of MISS KATHERINE LOCK. HAROLD STELZER and ODEL BUNCH of Celina visited here. SNOW-JESSUP Announcement of the marriage of MISS LUCILLE SNOW, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. SNOW, former residents of Saint Jo, to W. E. JESSUP of Nocona on Saturday, February 4 has been made. The ceremony was solemnized by Rev. L. G. HAGARD of the First Methodist Church of Henrietta in his home. MCGAUGHY, 60, resident of Saint Jo, formerly of Gainesville, who passed away at his home early Sunday following an illness of several years, were held in the GEORGE J. CARROL and Son Funeral Home Monday afternoon with Rev. H. H. MCBRIDE and Rev. C. H. THOMAS of Gainesville officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery. Mr. McGaughy, who was a city mail carrier in Gainesville for years, was a native of Saint Jo and returned to this city in 1936. After retiring from the postal service in 1918, he was for several years, the proprietor of a chicken farm several miles east of Gainesville and later made his home in Dallas, Fort Worth and Arkansas. Prior to his illness, he had been employed as a carpenter. He is survived by his wife, who is the former MISS TINNIE WISON/WILSON of Gainesville; one son RUEL MCGAUGHY of Denton; one daughter RMS. NELLIE GANZE of Dallas; four brothers J. M. of Eugene, Oregon, T. T. of Houston, O. R. and W. A. of Fort Worth; one sister MRS. F. H. BRUNS / BURNS of Gainesville and two grandchildren. He was born January 25, 1879 in Saint Jo and married in 1901 MISS KATE SKAGGS who passed away in 1916. Hurt in Motorcycle Accident W. H. “PETE” SORROW, member of the Gainesville police traffic department, is in a Gainesville hospital in serious condition after a motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon. Local MRS. S. G. COCKREL, MRS. KATE SAVINGS and MISS DORA POTTS went to visited MISS WYONZOLA MITCHELL at Wichita Falls. MRS. FAYE GORDON of Norman, Oklahoma visited her son CRACKIN and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. DAVE RANDELL. BRUCE SCOTT of Tyler visited his father W. E. SCOTT and family. MRS. PERT STUTCHUL of Ardmore and MRS. BILL BLANTON of Seminole, Oklahoma are visiting MRS. BARBARA BOGGESS is very ill. Mr. and Mrs. ROY BAKER of Wichita Falls visited MISS WINZOLA MITCHELL. MRS. BROWDER LAUDERDALE and daughters DOROTHY JO, ELOISE, DORIS, and BOBBY and ELIZABETH JANE ALDRIEDGE visited Fort Sill, Oklahoma. MRS. BOYD WINDER, MRS. ED GALLAGHER, MRS. FRED MEADOR and sons EARL and HAROLD, and MISS FRIEDA MEADOR were in Gainesville. MRS. W. L. SCOTT and her sister MRS. W. J. STONE of Nocona were in Wichita Falls. MRS. R. T. BOYD and son HERSCHEL went to Gainesville. C. F MANETY of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, owner of a dude ranch there, visited TAYLOR TUCK, one of his employees, here during the weekend. RONALD DAVIDSON, member of the high school faculty, visited in Lubbock. MRS. T. L. RICHEY was in Nocona. JACK COLLIER of Norman, Oklahoma visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. ISOM COLLIER. WALTER COLLIER purchased a new Ford truck. OPP DURHAM of McKinney visited his sister MRS. J. S. HENDRICKS. D. E. BESAW and FRANK SLAUGHTER had business in Wichita Falls. MISS JESSIE CHANCEY was in Gainesville. MRS. MILINDA PEMBROKE TOLIFERO / TALIAFERRO(?), formerly of Saint Jo now of Waurika, Oklahoma, visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. FRED MEADOR this week. MRS. TOLLIFERRO /TALLIFERRO has been visiting her son BEN PEMBROKE who lives near Bowie. Mr. and Mrs. PAUL CLAYTON were in Wichita Falls where he attended a special Chevrolet mechanics school. MRS. BARBARA BOGGESS suffered a paralytic stroke last week and is somewhat better now. BRUCE CANNON, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. OLEN CANNON of Illinois Bend, is sick. JERALD ADAMS, small son of Mr. and Mrs. ORB ADAMS, has been ill. MISS LOUISE RUSSELL, teaching at Hughes Springs, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. M. RUSSELL. MISS ESTELLE ROGERS is visiting her sister MRS. HELEN SMITH in Oklahoma City.
