When a small boy, he moved with his parents to Beaver county, Oklahoma. At the opening of Oklahoma in 1889 his parents homesteaded near El Reno. In 1901 he homesteaded his present farm in Roger Mills County, near Reydon, and resided there 51 years. In 1908 he was united in marriage to Emma King. To this union two children were born, Bryce and Charline. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Those left to mourn his passing are: His wife of the home address; son, Bryce of Manhattan, Kansas; daughter, Mrs. Charline Trusler of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Ronald and Carlson Trusler, Gary Rowen; one granddaughter, Lisa Rowen; two brothers, Cecil of Ponca City; Edgar of Claremore, Oklahoma; four sisters, Maud King and Una George, Oklahoma City; Lula Stephens and Clara Rowen of Norman, Oklahoma.
