F. Jones and Georgia Jones wife of J. F. Jones Citizens of Morris County and State of Texas for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred dollars to us in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and in further consideration of one promissory note of two hundred dollars of even date herewith and due on the first day of December 1884 With interest from January 1st 1884 at the rate of ten per cent per annum for the payment of which a lien is hereby retained upon the herein after described tract of land have bargained sold released and conveyed and by the presents do bargain sell release transfer and convey unto John R. Barfield of Morris County and State of Texas his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple the following described tract or parcel of land to wit: Situated in Morris County Texas Beginning at the N.E. corner of the lands to be described which is the N.E. corner of the Whole Blanton tract and is also the S.E. Corner of A. Hargiss land at a stake from which a pine 4 inches in diameter brs North 76 degrees W 5 Varas Thence South along the West line of Callaways line Which is the Chambers tract 194 Rods to a Stake from which a Red oak bears North 12 degrees W 5 Varas Thence West along the North line of John R. Stephens or I. M. Chaddicks land 41.24 Rods to a Stake from Which a Black Jack 8 inches in diameter brs North 33 degrees E. 8 Varas also a Red Oak 3 inches in diameter brs North 74 degrees West 3 Varas both Marked X Thence North 194 Rods to a Stake from Which a Post Oak 13 inches in diameter brs South 47 degrees E 7 Varas Thence East along the South line of A. Hargiss land 41.24 Rods to the place of Beginning Enclosing an area of fifty (50) acres of land. Also a tract Beginning at the N.E. corner which is the N.W. corner of tract No. 1 at a Stake from which a Post Oak 13 inches in diameter brs South 47 degrees E 7 Varas Thence South along the West line of tract No. 1 194 Rods to a Stake from Which a Black Jack 8 inches in diameter brs North 33 degrees E 8 Varas also a Red Oak 3 inches in diameter brs. North 74 degrees West 3 Varas both Marked X Thence West along the North line of the Rogers Survey 41.24 Rods to a Stake from which a Red Oak 3 inches in diameter brs. North 14 degrees 65 Varas Marked X Thence North 194 Rods to a Stake from which a Hickory 5 inches in diameter brs S. 33 degrees E. 11 Varas Another hickory 9 inches in diameter brs S 10 degrees E. 9 Varas both Marked X Thence East along the South line of A. Hargiss lands 41.24 Rods to the place of Beginning including an area of fifty acres of land and both tracts included in this deed together with all and singular the rights members hereditaments and improvements to the same belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining thereto to have and to hold all and singular the premises above mentioned unto the said John R. Barfield his heirs and assigns forever and We do hereby bind ourselves our heirs and legal representatives to forever warrant and defend all and singular the title to the above mentioned premises unto the said John R. Barfield his heirs and assigns against every person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. Jones Known to me to be the person whose name is subscribed to the foregoing deed or instrument in writing and acknowledged to me that he executed the same for the purposes and consideration therein expressed. Jones Known to me to be the person whose name is subscribed to the foregoing instrument and having been examined by me privily and apart from her husband and having the same fully explained to her she the said Georgia Jones acknowledged such instrument to be her act and deed and declared that she had willingly signed the same for the purposes and considerations therein expressed and that she did not wish to retract it.
