T. Barnard, a prominent and respected Morris County citizen Friday. Mr. Barnard died at his home in the Sycamore community Friday morning at 1:00 o'clock terminating an illness of 10 days. John Thomas Barnard was born in 1871 in the Sycamore community. He joined the Baptist church at the age of 16. He and Miss Lula Truitt were married March 1, 1893. Mrs. Barnard survives with seven children, one child having died in infancy. They are Mrs. Arthur Vaughn of Jenkins, Mrs. Dee Walker of Daingerfield, Mrs. Jim Williams of Cason, Mrs. Roy Jones of Sycamore, Leonard Barnard of Jenkins, Jewell Barnard who was living in the home of Mr. Barnard, and Johnie Barnard of Daingerfield. Among others left to mourn his passing are 33 grandchildre; two brothers, Will Barnard of Winnsboro and Gus Barnard of Cason, and five sisters, Mrs. Lester Johnston of Sycamore, Mrs. Lou Beauchamp of Huntington, Mrs. Effie Hicks and Mrs. Carrie Crabtree of Drumwright, Okla., and Mrs. Vera Hicks of Holdenville, Okla. Funeral services were held at the Clark cemetery Saturday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock with Rev. JOhnnie Campbell, Baptist preacher of Cass County, in charge, assisted by Rev. C. O. Clark, Baptist minister of the Jenkins community. Pallbearers were O. B. Barnard, Byrdene Barnard, Willie B. Barnard, Johnnie Johnston, Joe Barnard and Tom Barnard, nephews of Mr. Barnard. Out-of-town attendants at the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hicks of Holdenville, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Willard Reed and daughter, Miss Virginia of Paul's Valley, Okla., Mrs. R. H. Lockhart and two children of Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Grady Jordan of Newsome, Leonard and Earl Truitt and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Truitt of Tyler, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Vaughn and daughter, Miss Maudine, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barnard, Willie Barnard, Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Greenlee, all of Winnsboro, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hare of Gladewater, Mrs. Bertie Lantrip of Van and Mrs. DeWitt Hedgecock of Longview.
