Cason Woman Dies at Home
Morris County News
April 8, 1948

Shug Cason 88 of Cason died Saturday at her home in Cason. She was a member of
the Order of The Eastern Star and the Baptist Church and a homemaker. Services
were held at the Snow Hill Baptist Church under the direction of J. W. Reeder.
Interment was in Snow Hill Cemetery.

Her parents, two brothers, and her husband the late J. J. Cason preceded her
in death. Mrs. Cason was born Eliza Catherine Wardlow on January 5, 1860 in
Titus County. She was the eldest daughter of the late J W & Amanda White
Wardlow.

Survivors include five daughters Mrs. C C Wheeler and Miss Willie Maud Cason
of Dallas; Miss Katie Pearl Cason, Miss Lou Ella Cason of Cason; and Mrs. A L
Williams of Daingerfield; a son J W Cason of Hughes Springs. Also surviving
were three sisters Mrs. O P Jones of Midland, Mrs. A H Evans of Cason, and
Mrs. W I Allison of Eastland; and two brothers who were O E Wardlow of Cason,
and John Wardlow of Pittsburg. Mrs. Cason was one of the oldest citizens of
Cason at the time of her death.
