All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Funeral Services For Joe Connor, 6, Conducted Here January 12, 1938 Joe Milton Connor, six-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Connor, died in a Shreveport hospital at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday morning. He had been ill of diptheria since Christmas and had been in the hospital since Jan 1. The body which was brought home from Shreveport Wednesday, lay in state until Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock. At the time funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church. Rev. B. L. Hatch, pastor, assisted by Rev. J. O. Jolly, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiated. Flower girls were Misses Virginia Faye Denson, Ann Irvin, Imogene Williams, Evelyn Old, LaVonne Dalby, Avanell Blackman, Maurine Thigpen, Mary Lynn Pratt and Martha Frances Howell. Pallbearers were John Ross Conly, Thomas Blackman, Robert Connor, Jerald Turner, W. H. Crump and Dewey Denson Jr. The deceased is survived by his parents; two sisters, Misses Sarah and Margaret Ann; three brothers, Terrell Jr., of Pittsburg, George and Lev Old; and his grandfather, L. H. Old, of Cason. Among those attending from out-of-town were Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Thigpen, Mrs. R. L. Smith, Mrs. Mae Giles, Mrs. Lillie Cherry, Mrs. Clyde Moore, R. D. Moore, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Wright and Miss Myrtle Meadows of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. B. I. Currey of Marshall; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cheatham of Pittsburg; Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Mann, Mr. and Mrs. Edd Patton and daughter Miss Joy, Mrs. Daisy Cason, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wardlow, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Old of Cason; Mr. and Mrs. Bird Old of Mt. Pleasant.
