Connor, 88, Dies At Home At Rocky Branch June 24, 1938 William Scott Connor, 88, pioneer citizen of Morris County died at his home in the Rocky Branch community Friday night June 24, at 10:00 o'clock after a long illness. Mr. Connor, son of Mr. & Mrs. Jonathan Connor, was born near Summerville, Tenn., and came to Texas with his parents when he was a year old. The family settled near Daingerfield. Mr. Connor was married to Miss Mattie Crowder in 1875. To this union were born eight children, one dying in infancy. Thomas died in early manhood. The others, who were at his bedside when he passed away were H. M. Connor and R. C. Connor of Avinger, Guy Connor of Omaha, William Connor of Houston, Mrs. Kay Carr of Rodessa, La., and Mrs. Edward Foster of Rocky Branch. Eighteen grandchildren are living and one sister, Mrs. Louisa Williams of Daingerfield. Mr. & Mrs. Connor established their home in the Rocky Branch community soon after they were married and have resided there 63 years. Mr. Connor was a member of the Church of Christ for many years and attended church regularly so long as his health permitted. He was surveyor for Morris county for a period of about 20 years. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ at Rocky Branch Saturday at 4:00 o'clock with Jasper Reynolds of Linden and C. D. Record of Eutace conducting the Services. The body was interred in Daingerfield Cemetery. His grandsons were pallbearers. ---
