Long, age about 65 years, died at her home in Cason on the 17th, inst. Mrs. Long was an old and highly respected resident of Cason, having resided there for the past thirty years or more. She was a consistent member of the Baptist church and was loved and respected by all who knew her. Three sons, a daughter and several other relatives and friends survive her. Interment was held at Union Hill cemetery, near Mt. Pleasant. IN MEMORY OF SISTER S. J. LONG November 17, 1917 Almost without warning on the 17th, inst. the "Death Angel" came and called Sister S. J. Long home to be with her husband, who was called from the walks of men 34 years ago. Sister Long's maiden name was Gaggers. She was born in Alabama, September 23, 1852. She moved to Texas in 1860. For over thirty years she lived a devoted and consecrated christian life with the Cason Missionary Baptist church. Faithful to that institute for which Jesus Christ shed his precious blood. She leaves three sons, a daughter and one brother. The oldest son lives in Texarkana, two sons and a daughter in Cason, also 21 grand- children, and a host of friends to mourn her loss. She will be greatly missed for everyone who knew her loved her. But children your mother fought a good fight. Her troubles are over. She is resting and bids you come to her. You cannot bring her back. Prepare to meet her in Heaven where all troubles and trials will be over. She was a most patient sufferer from the time she was thirteen years old until her death. Monday following her death she was buried at Union Hill cemetery, near Mt. Pleasant, by the side of her husband. O' may God's richest blessings rest upon all those who mourn her death, especially those who are out of Christ. The expressions upon her face was so sweet and peaceful. It reminded us of our own dear mothers who are in the Glory CARD OF THANKS To our dear friends of Cason. Please accept our sincere thanks for kindness and sympathy shown us in the short illness and death of our dear mother. J. H. Long, W. R. Long, J. D. Long, and Mrs. W. F. Dunlap
