McElroy of Mount Pleasant Expires Monday December 16, 1935 There is a wide circle of friends throughout this section who were made sad by the death Monday of E L McElroy, former county Judge of Titus County, who had been suffering for several months as a result of cancer of the liver. Failing heath had made necessary his resignation from the office of county judge, a position he had filled with merit. Mr. McElroy, 57, at one time had served as tax assessor in Titus county. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Snow Hill church near Daingerfield with Rev J. D. McClung, burial following in the Snow Hill cemetery. The deceased was a nephew of the late R. L. cason of Daingerfield, Mrs. Cason, Mr. & Mrs. Leon Cason & Mrs. R. R. Traylor were in the McElroy home Monday, and were amoung the many who paid last respects at the funeral Tuesday. Mr. McElroy is survived by his wife, two sons, George Lee of Mt. Vernon and Bob of Mount Pleasant, one daughter, Mrs. Dean Maxton of Winfield, and a brother, A. V. McElroy, of Talco.
