Prominent Cason Man Dies After Lenghty Illness
November 19, 1938

James L. Russell, 60, died at 3:30 Saturday morning at his home at Cason after
being ill about a year.

Mr. Russell married Miss Mora Thornton in early manhood. To this union were
born two daughters, now Mrs. J. W. Manns of Ore City and Mrs. Richard Pope of
Shreveport.

Funeral services at 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon were held at Blevins
Cemetery, Rev. J. W. Reeder of Hughes Springs directed rites.

Mr. Russell lived in Cason all of his life. He is survived by his wife,
daughters and two brothers, D. A. Russell and Dr. T. A. Russell.
