Mr. Cook was hauling lumber from DePrang & White's mill, about 15 miles northeast of Daingerfield, to Hughes Springs. His truck stuck on a hill a few miles from the mill, the brakes refused to work and the truck ran backwards several yards and turned into a ditch, with results as above stated. Mr. Cook had resided in Morris county for most of his life and had many friends here who will regret to learn of his tragic death. He is survived by his wife and two children, besides three brothers and three sisters, as follows: W. D., S. L., and J. E. Cook, Mrs. Lula Precise, Mrs. Alice Collins and Mrs. Annie Milam, all of whom live near Dangerfield except Mrs. Milam, who lives in Mississippi. Funeral services were held at Iron Bluff cemetery, 7 miles south of Dangerfield, where the remains were laid to rest in the presence of a large gathering of friends and relatives. Rev Smith of Daingerfield conducted the services. * Walter was born 30 Aug 1889 and died 23 Sept 1926.
