Pleasant Times - August 13, 1931 R. P. White died Wednesday, Aug. 5th at his home 2 miles west of Cason. Mr. White, affectionately known as "Uncle Buddy", was one of the few remaining Confederate soldiers, being 90 years of age at the time of his death, and had lived in Titus county for more than sixty years. The funeral was conducted Thursday afternoon at the Cason Baptist Church with the Masonic order of that place in charge at the cemetery. Surviving are two sons and three daughters: Mrs. W. L. Manns, and George White of Cason, W. L. White of Winnsboro, Mrs. L. F. Garrett of Lafayette and Mrs. Jennie Pickens of Amarillo. ---
