This cemetery is set on a ridge overlooking a deep-cut narrow valley and stream, in an area of high hills and rolling farmland. DIRECTIONS: From Nacogdoches on SR21, go east 5 miles to FM225 and turn right (south); continue on 225 for 7.6 miles (passing through Woden) to the sign for Jacobs Chapel Cemetery on the right. Turn right onto the narrow dirt lane and go about a quarter-mile to the cemetery on the left. This is an access road through private property. From the south, on SR103 at the caution light at Etoile turn north on FM225 and go 9 miles to the sign for the cemetery and turn left. This is an old cemetery, still in use, that served the farming families who settled this area in the early 19th century. As usual, photographs were taken of all headstones in the cemetery; those pictures will be provided at no cost to anyone who asks. Cemetery research in Nacogdoches, Angelina, and San Augustine Counties will be provided as a courtesy to anyone who asks. Data on veterans of the War of Northern Aggression was taken from the headstones; the notation (fhm) indicates a small metal funeral home marker. The abbreviation CSA means Confederate States Army. Just inside the gate is a small flat marker with the inscription "Dad Young Rode with the Jessie James Gang" ALDERS, Thomas H.; b. Apr 5, 1866; d.
