Cook & wife, Mary Cook of the county of Navarro in consideration of the sum of Five Hundred dollars to me in had paid by F.M. Grimes paid as follows his 2 promissory notes of even date herewith for $250 each, one due Nov 1st 1892, the other due Nov 1st 1893, both bearing 10% per annum from date until paid a vendor lien is hereby retained on the herein after described property to secure these notes. All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in Navarro County Texas and is describes as follows to wit: Beginning on the S.W. Corner of a 160 acre survey made for Henry Hubble Nw line of C. Jarrell 640 acre survey a stake whence a mosquite 10 in in dia bear N63 E 49 vars a Mosquite 9 in in dia bears South 47 W 58 1/2 vars. Thence N30 W 350 vars a stake the S.E. Corner of a 120 acre survey made for J.H. Powell. Whence a mosquite 10 in in dai brs S3 W 17 vars a Mosquite 6 in dia brs S 48 E 19 vars. Thence S60 W with said Powell S.W. line 950 vars a stake in F. Grimes E line thence S 306 to C. Jarrell NW corner a stake from which a mosquite 10 in in da bears S 9 # 6 vars a Mosquite 7 in in dia brs S44 W 7 vars. Thence N60 E with Jarrell N.W. line 960 vars to the place of beginning containing 59 acres of land more or less out of the Henry Hubble Patent Headright.
