Grimes Jr of County of Navarro, State of Texas in pursuance of the rights vouchsafed me by the laws of Texas do by these present, dedicate, nominate, set apart and designate as my homestead the following described property in Navarro Co to wit: One Hundred and Ninety Eight (198) acres of land comprising two tracts described as follows: 1st tract containing (152)One Hundred and Fifty two acres a part of the Frederick Grimes Survey conveyed to me by F.M. Grimes Sr. and wife, E.S. Grimes on August 31, 1875 by deed recorded in Book 40 page 68 Navarro County Deed Records 2nd tract containing Forty Six (46) acres also a part of the Frederick Grimes Survey conveyed to me by F.M. Grimes Sr and wife E.S. Grimes January 22nd 1886. Deed recorded in Book 51 pg 598 Navarro Co Deed records and I hereby refer to said Deeds for a particular and definite description of said tracts of lands. To have and hold unto my heirs and legal representatives forever free acquit from all claims whatsoever and I bind myself and my heirs and legal representatives to occupy, use and enjoy the above described premises as contemplated by law to constitute a Homestead. In faith whereof I hereto sign my name this 18th day of Sept 1886. F.M. Grimes Jr. Before me S.D. Curtis a Notary Public in and for Navarro County this day personally came F.M. Grimes Jr. known to me to be the person who executed the above instrument of writing and acknowledged to me that he signed the same for the purposes and considerations therein expressed.
