McDaniels, H. Lakey $600 March 31 1882 Know all men by these presents that we Margaret Strange, Lizzie Mullens and her husband W.T. Mullens, Charline Shelton and her husband, Pine Shelton, G.R. Strange, Rachel Strange, W.T. Strange and Mary Strange all of the state and county aforesaid and the legal heirs of Lott Strange Dec'd in consideration of Six Hundred dollars to us in hand paid by R. [Raleigh] Hightower of the county of Navarro paid as follows: One Hundred dollars paid in cash and his promissory not bearing even date herewith due on or before the 15th day of November next for five hundres dollars ($500.00) have granted bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents do bargain, sell, alien, and convey to said R. Hightower all that piece of land. Situated in the county of Navarro and State of Texas and known as the Lott Strange assignee of Grisham Lee 320 acre survey and described as follows: Beginning at a stake from which a P. Oak brs S70 & W 12 varas another 8 in dia brs N 30 &W 12 vrs 6 West N.E. corner and B. McDaniels W boundary. Thence N 30 W 840 varas with said McDaniel line to a stake a mesquite 8 in da brs N27 E 86 varas McDaniels NW corner. Thence N 60 E 130 varas to a stake from which a P Oak brs N 31 & E 60 vrs. Another 6 in dia brs N 38 1/2 E 68 1/2 varas. S. W. corner of a survey for H. Lakey. Thence 30 W with the W boundary of the same 660 vara a stake a P.O. brsa N 57 & E 67 varas. Thence S 60 & W1277 varas to a stake from which a mesquite 5 in dia brs N 53 & E 135 varas. Thence South 30 & E 1500 varas to a P.O. 8 in dia marked as a corner. Thence North 60 E 1146 varas to the beginning containing 320 acres. Reference is here made to letter pstent for the same bearing date the 27th day of Oct 1859. Together with all and singular the rights, members improvements hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise incident or appertaining. To have and to hold all singular the premises above mentioned unto the said R. Hightower his heirs and assigns forever; and we do hereby bind ourselves our heirs executors and Administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular The siad premises unto the said R. Hightower his heirs and assigns against every person whomsovever claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof either in law or equity.
