Apparently, it's the chief industry of the Corsicanans. Pick up any paper that makes a specialty of Texas marriages and Corsicana is at the ratio of 16 to 1. We would think that a pastoral charge in Corsicana could claim the most popular preacher in the land. 25 February 1915 Leslie C. Tullos, a native of Corsicana, Texas, will make a bid for the third basing berth on the Crackers during the coming Southern league campaign, and judging from the touting he is receiving will be an active candidate for the berth. Hank Gowdy, the Braves' great receiver, who is in Atlanta for a few days, is one of the many boosters of Tullos, Gowdy having played with Tullos in the Texas league before going to the "big tent." Tullos was born in Corsicana, Texas, July 17, 1889, and is, therefore, nearly twenty-six years of age. He weighs 162 pounds, and stands 5 feet 10 inches. His winter home is in Dallas, Texas. Tullos has been in professional baseball seven years; all of his experience being in the Texas league. He played with Dallas in 1908 and 1909, Waco in 1910 and Dallas the last four years. Tullos throws and bats right-handed. Last year he hit .281 and fielded.966, stealing 39 bases. He writes that he is ready for the gong to ring, and the man that beats him out for a regular berth will have to step at his fastest clip.
