Beck, Ab Ledford and Top Scott went to Daniels Lake fishing Friday night and report a fine catch. Miss Clankie Fleming went to Dallas Wednesday to buy for her department at Bonnett Dry Goods Co. Mrs. J.M. Cole went to Corsicana Wednesday. J.F. Henderson and son, Francis and Miss Clara French went to Dallas Tuesday. J.C. Beck, Ab Ledford and J.R. Skelton went to Dallas, Tuesday. John Davis visited his parents in Dallas, Sunday. C.R. Blake writes his wife that the crossing made him sick but he is gaining in weight and feeling fine. J.M. Scott had a wire from his son, Ben, at Minneapolis saying he was leaving for New York Friday. Joy, Fern, and Clifton Blackman of Dallas are the guests of their cousin, Winnie Palmer. Miss Winnie Palmer's application for Red Cross nurse has been accepted and she is to report at the Baptist Sanitarium at Dallas, Sept the 3rd. Bennett has received a call to the pastorate of a church in Louisiana and he is preparing to go there next month. W.R. Stockard of Corsicana visited his father, W.N. Stockard here Sunday. Misses Edith and Erin Ross have returned from a house party at the new country home of Miss Marian Roberts near Red Oak. Miss Margaret Eastland of Hubbard City visited Mr. and Mrs. Dunpgan [sic] Jesse Smith has returned from the Sanitarium at Dallas she had the misfortune to have a hemorrhage of the throat after returning but is getting along nicely now.
