Aug 28. In the last will and testament of Mrs. M.K. Butler, who died in Blooming Grove 2 years ago, a fund was designated to be used for educating four orphan boys and girls of Navarro Co. Roger Lloyd of Blooming Grove was made custodian of the fund and Joel Haden and John Reed were appointed to select the students and they are now engaged in awarding these scholarships. Miss Ethel Ellis and Miss Jennie Lumpkin of Blooming Grove have been awared scholarships and are to attend T.C.U. Warren Hicks of Corsicana is the first boy to be selected. He will go to the Univ. of Texas this year. Provision is made for taking care of all necessary expenses of the students until they shall receive their degree.
