The Butler Herald - Taylor Co GA 1917
June 21, 1917

Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Davant, Jr. of Corsicana Texas and Miss Nellie McCants of
Chatfield, TX after a pleasant vist of ten days to relatives here left Tuesday
morning for their respective homes.

Additional Comments:
J.E. Davant married Laura d/o Shady Ann and W.P. Edwards 
11 Jan 1888, Prof J.E. Davant to Miss Laura Edwards married at Methodist Church
in Butler. Groom is son of Prof P.E. Davant, the bride daughter of Col W.P.
Edwards.

Mar 1887 Butler Herald printed from the Corsicana paper Observer the death 21
Jan 1887 of James Henry Edwards. Born in Talbot Co GA Feb 16, 1832; buried in
Chatfield. Moved to Chatfield in 1871.  His brothers were: M.T. Edwards, Navarro
Co, TX; Col W.P. Edwards, Butler, Taylor Co GA and Dr. A.L. Edwards of Mexico.
