The deceased was a native of North Carolina; born in Halifax county, of that State, on the 19th of March 1775. In the Fall of 1795, he removed to Tennessee where he resided about two years, when he went to live in Lexington County, Ky., where he remained until 1855, when he emigrated to Texas and settled with Mr. Persons on Rush Creek, in this county.
