Stephen Jackson Jones was the husband of Mary Susanna (Stuart) Jones, and son of William Jefferson and Martha Ann (Earnest) Jones. Stephen Jackson and Mary Susanna Jones' children included: Andrew Clarence Jones, 1870 – 1964; John Bruner Jones, 1872 – 1906; Francis Emmitt Jones, 1875 – 1946; Ernest Stuart Jones, 1877 – 1967; Mary Alice Jones, 1880 – 1881; Walter Gray Jones, 1882 – 1906; Pinkerson "Pinkey" Jefferson Jones, 1885 – 1953; Ethel A Jones, 1886 – 1887; Georgia Etta Jones, 1888 – 1965; Annie Lee Jones, 1889 – 1976 Inez Bertha Jones, 1892 – 1980; Francis Josephene Jones, 1893 – 1894; Era M. Jones 1894 – 1978; and Thomas Watson Jones, 1896 - 1971. William Jefferson Jones, 1815 - 1889, was the son of Stephen Thomas Jones, 1767 - 1835, and Elizabeth Jones, 1770 -1863. Martha Ann (Earnest) Jones, 1827 - 1898, was the daughter of Thomas H. Earnest, who was born in 1787. Dum Tacet Clamat translates to "though silent, he speaks."
