Grave Stone.  I went to Texas to photo several family graveyards in search of 
my family, French, Gan, Farmer and we went to Brushie Prairie Church.  

Additional Comments:

Alvie may be a nick name
At the top it says "Son of J.M and Annie French" 
At the bottom of the headstone it says 
"A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacent in our home, which never can be filled"
