M. Putman. Born February 10,1926 in Alliance Hall, Navarro County, Texas. He died at the VA Hospital in Waco, Texas September 19, 2003. Additional Comments: Y. M. Putman was born and raised in Navarro County, Texas. He graduated from Blooming Grove High School in 1943 at age 17 and joined the US Navy. He served in the Mariana Islands on Saipan during WWII. He married Wylna Calame in 1947 and moved to Pasadena, Texas where he worked at Shell Refinery in Deer Park, Texas for 30 years. In 1982 he retired to his farm and his passion in Navarro Mills, Texas.
