Born in Chickasaw Co MS.
Married Aletha Jane Thompson  in Chickasaw Co. MS  Dec 18, 1850
8 children -- 3 died in infancy
4 survived him [ Ellen, R.B., Bill, Lydia (Grimes) ]

Year of birth probably closer to 1830 -- every newspaper clipping, pension,
census give a different date.  The older he got, the older he said he was!

Mason

Wanted to be buried in his Confederate uniform so the Yankees would know who he
was to his dying day. Enlisted March,1862   in Clarksville in
Whitfield's Legion Co F .
