This series of photographs was taken in November 1995, following research into 
the life Joseph E. Knowles. All photos were made by Harry E. Alexander and his 
wife Elaine. Harry assisted me in uncovering the remarkable story of Joseph E. 
(Noles)Knowles in the Alabama State Archives. All tombstones shown are believed 
to indicate connections to Joseph Knowles. For more information see the brief
