Complaint filed by Wm OHLER charging defendant with being guilty of hauling & removing shell from front of lots on the beach on Dec. 2nd, 1876. And now defendant being brought before the court announced himself ready for trial and plead guilty as charged. Whereupon it was ordered by the court that he be fined five dollars and all costs in this behalf and that he stand committed to the custody of City Marshall until said fine & costs are paid. No. 124 - The City of Corpus Christi vs Ben WIMRIGHT In Recorders Court December 4th 1876. Complaint filed by Wm OHLER charging defendant with being drunk & down on December 3rd 1876. And now defendant being brought before the court announced himself ready for trial and plead guilty as charged. Complaint filed same day charging defendant with being guilty of committing an assault & battery on the body of Lottie CRAGE. And now defendant being brought before the court announced himself ready for trial & plead not guilty. Whereupon the evidence was heard. When he was adjudged guilty as charged by the court, and it was ordered that he be fined ten dollars and all costs in this behalf & that he stand committed to custody of City Marshal until said fine & costs are paid. No. 128 - City Corpus Christi vs Esa ESTRANGEL In Recorders Court Dec. 4th 1876. Complaint filed by Martine HINAJOSA charging defendant with being guilty of the unlawful bearing of firearms on Dec. 2nd 1876. And now defendant being brought before the court announced himself ready for trial and plead guilty as charged. When it was ordered by the court that he be fined five dollars & all costs in this behalf and that he stand committed to the custody of City Marshal until said fine & costs are paid. Page 339 No. 129 - City of Corpus Christi vs Chandler JOHNSTON In Recorders Court Dec. 5th 1876. Complaint filed by Patrick WILLIAM charging defendant with being guilty of desecrating the cemetery on Dec. 3rd 1876. And now defendant being brought before the court announced himself ready for trial and plead not guilty. Whereupon the evidence was heard. When it was considered by the court that the charge was not sustained and defendant was therefore discharged to go hence without day. No. 130 - The City of Corpus Christi vs MUSSETT & LAWLER In Recorders Court December 5th 1876. Complaint filed charging defendants with being guilty of keeping a dance house within the corporate limits of city without first having obtained a license. And now, the said firm of MUSSETT & LAWLER, represented by E. T. MUSSETT one of said firm being brought before the court announced themselves ready for trial and plead guilty as charged. When it was ordered by the court that defendants be fined ten dollars and all costs in this behalf. And that they stand committed to custody of City Marshal until said fine and costs are paid. When it was ordered by the court that he be fined five dollars and all costs in this behalf and that he stand committed to custody of City Marshal until said fine and costs are paid. Whereupon defendant gave notice of appeal to the City Council. No. 132 - City of Corpus Christi vs L. WEBBER In Recorders Court Dec. 7th A.D. 1876. Complaint filed by William OHLER charging defendant with being guilty of removing shell from front of lots on the Beach on December 6th 1876. And now the defendant being brought before the court announced himself ready for trial and plead guilty as charged. When it was ordered by the court that he be fined five dollars and all costs in this behalf and that he stand committed to custody of City Marshal until said fine and costs are paid. Whereupon defendant gave notice of appeal to the City Council. Page 341 No. 133 - The City of Corpus Christi vs Emanuel WILLETT In Recorders Court December 8th A.D. 1876. Complaint filed by William OHLER charging defendant with being guilty of obstructing the side walk with a dray on December the 6th 1876. And now defendant being brought before the court announced himself ready for trial and plead guilty as charged. When it was ordered by the court that he be fined one dollar and all costs in this behalf and that he stand committed to custody of City Marshal until said fine and costs are paid. No. 134 - The City of Corpus Christi vs Dave MATHIAS In Recorders Court Dec. 9th 1876. Complaint filed by Wm HEADEN Esq., Mayor of the City of Corpus Christi charging defendant with being guilty of keeping a disorderly house and keeping his bar room open after eleven o^Òclock P.M. and before four o^Òclock A.M. on the night of the 8th and 9th smts(?) 1876. And now defendant appearing in person and by his attorney F.E. MacMANNUS, and being ready to proceed in his case, a jury was demanded & therefore a venue was issued for six lawful jurors to try said cause. When the following named persons were summoned as jurors to wit. R. W. ARCHER, J. HENRY, H. KELLER, John L. McLAUGHLIN, W. N. STAPLES and George W. WOODMAN, and said jury being sworn to well and truly try said cause and a verdict render according to the law and evidence, said defendant by his attorney announced ready for trial and plead not guilty. When the court ordered the trial to proceed, and the jury after hearing the evidence, argument of council and remarks of Mayor, retired to consider of their verdict, and afterwards on same day returned in to court the following verdict. Page 342 We the jury find the defendant Dave MATHIAS guilty as charged and assess the fine at five dollars ($5.00). Decr. 9th 1876. W. N. STAPLES, Foreman. Whereupon it was ordered by the court that defendant remain in custody of City Marshal until said fine and all costs in this behalf be paid. Complaint filed by Charles WICKS charging defendant with drunkeness and disorderly conduct on Decr. 9th 1876. When it was ordered by the court that he be fined five dollars and all costs in this behalf and that he stand committed to custody of City Marshal until said fine and costs are paid. No. 141 - The City of Corpus Christi vs Juan GONZALES In Recorders Court Decr. 11th 1876. Complaint filed by Thos. BASQUES charging defendant with drunkeness and disorderly conduct on December 9th 1876. And now defendant being brought before the court announced himself ready for trial and plead not guilty. Whereupon the evidence was heard. When he was adjudged guilty as charged by the court and it was ordered that he be fined twenty-five dollars and all costs in this behalf and that he stand committed to custody of City Marshal until said fine & costs are paid. Page 345 No. 142 - The City of Corpus Christi vs Juan YERMES In Recorders Court Decr. 12th 1876. Complaint filed by Wm OHLER, charging defendant with being drunk and down on Decr 11th 1876. And now defendant being brought before the court announced himself ready for trial and plead guilty as charged. When it was ordered by the court that he be fined one dollar and all costs in this behalf and that he stand committed to custody of City Marshal until said fine & costs are paid. No. 143 - The City of Corpus Christi vs William R. RUSH In Recorders Court Decr. 14th 1876. Complaint filed by William OHLER, charging defendant with being guilty of fighting on Decr. 14th, 76. And now the defendant being brought before the court announced himself ready for trial and plead guilty as charged. When it was ordered by the court that he be fined five dollars and all costs in this behalf and that he stand committed to custody of City Marshal until said fine and costs are paid. No. 144 - The City of Corpus Christi vs George SMITH In Recorders Court Decr. 15th 1876. Complaint filed by Lorenzo MEDENA charging defd with assault by the use of insulting and abusive language on Decr. 15th 1876. And now the defendant being brought before the court announced himself ready for trial and plead not guilty whereupon the evidence was heard and he was adjudged guilty as charged by the court and it was ordered that he be fined ten dollars and all costs in this behalf and that he stand committed until said fine & costs are paid. WHELAN charging defendant with being guilty of disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace on Decr 18th 1876.
