Federal recognition was extended to the organization on June 7, 1922. The unit has remained in Robstown since its organization, and the majority of the young men of the city have at one time or another been members of the company. Captain Nichols commanded the organization for two years after its founding, when he resigned. Captain Jack Bickley was placed in command, serving until 1925, when he too, resigned. Captain R. Bryan Nichols assumed command, holding the post until 1931, when he resigned and Captain Bickley was reappointed to command. In 1933, Captain Bickley again resigned and Captain John E. Evans was appointed Commander, holding command until the present. During the time the organization has been located in Robstown, it has been redesignated as Company G, 141st Infantry, this being necessary in order that the entire Battalion might be located in San Antonio. It is interesting to note the various trades and professions of the men making up the company. In this organization, the following are represented: Funeral director, watchmaker, rancher, farmer, oil field worker, cook, postal clerk, mechanic, painter, department store salesman, mechanical refrigeration engineer, steamship clerk, filling station operator, student, railroad man, insurance salesman, motion picture operator, trucker and others interested in vegetable gardening and the cotton industry. Company G has attended camp every year with the exception of 1923, the first year after its organization. At the encampment and Federal inspections, the organization has always made a good record.
