Barton, aged 35 years, manager for the local yard of the H. D. Taylor Lumber Company of Houston and one of the most prominent business men of this city, died tonight at a local sanitarium, following an operation for appendicitis. He is survived by His widow and two children. The funeral will be held here Saturday afternoon. 13 August 1913 Dallas (TX) Morning News, p. 14 Barton - Taylor, Tex., Aug. 12 - A telegram from Corpus Christi announced the death there of Turner Barton, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Barton of this city. He was operated upon for appendicitis and died the followng day. Decedent's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Barton, and two brothers, Cecil and Arthur Barton, and the latter's wife, all of Taylor, attended the funeral at Corpus Christi. Besides his widow, the deceased is survived by three brothers, Mackey Barton of Houston, Cecil Barton and Arthur Barton of Taylor, and one sister, Mrs. J. V. Laudan of Taylor, and his parents.
