"Estella Cavazos, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Vicente Cavazos, 1216 Espinosa, was found lying near the chair in a bedroom of their home by Mrs. Cavazos, police said. She had large burns on her upper right arm and back. "Police Detective C.V. Blackwell said he was driving near the home when he heard screaming and crying. After a quick investigation he escorted members of the family and the child to Memorial Hospital where Estella was pronounced dead on arrival. "Justice of the Peace W.A. Gilleland gave a ruling of accidental death from electrocution. The body was released to Angelus Funeral Home. "Blackwell said a large electric fan and a small fan had been set up on two chrome metal chairs in the Cavazos' bedroom. The cord had been spliced in several places, Blackwell said, and the chair rested on one of these sections that was bare. "Mrs. Cavazos told funeral home attendants she also got an electrical shock when she tried to pick up her daughter."
