Roberson, Sr., 87, of Corpus Christi passed away Friday, January 30, 1998, at his residence. Mr. Roberson was born November 28, 1910 in Cleburne, Texas. He moved to Corpus Christi in 1926 and has served as a deacon at Travis Baptist Church for over 40 years. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering in 1933 and later received his Masters in Education. He taught for three years at Texas A&M before returning to Corpus Christi to teach for five years at Corpus Christi High School. He retired after 31 years as a professor of Engineering at Del Mar College. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, LaRue Roberson, on January 16, 1991. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Roberson of Corpus Christi; two sons, Douglas B. Roberson Jr. of San Antonio and Edward Roberson of Boerne; one sister, Mildred Olson of Houston; six grandchildren, Edward Lee Roberson, Douglas B. Roberson III, Victoria LaRue Roberson, Patrick Strawbridge, Seavey Duff and Jaime Strawbridge. Public visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 1998, at the New Funeral Options Visitation Suite. Visitation will continue at 9 a.m., Monday, February 2, 1998, in Travis Baptist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, February 2, 1998 in the Travis Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Hale officiating. Interment will follow in Seaside Cemetery under the directions of New Funeral Options, Inc.
