He had been in poor health for the past year. Morris, up to the day of his death, had been a fighter for civic, highway, and all types of improvements for Victoria County, Yesterday he fired a blast at the railroads for their action in cutting off train service to Victoria, Alice, and other points. Born in Corpus Christi, Morris came to Victoria as a young man, and from 1902 to 1934 was editor of the Victoria Advocate.
