James R. Miller of Friendship Baptist Church speaking the eulogy & Rev. V. B. Friar, Sr. of St. James Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Marvin Anderson was the 2nd child born to Lemmie & Bessie Anderson in Seguin, Guadalupe County. He as born on March 11, 1923. His parents & 2 brothers, Leon & Andrew Anderson, preceded him in death. Marvin attended Hoover School in the Nash Creek Community & he united with Redds Chapel Methodist Church at an early age. He was a former member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Church Treasurer & a member of the Deacon Board. Marvin was a retired yard foreman of Land & Marine Oil & Tool Company. Brother Anderson departed this life on Friday, May 12, 1995. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Corine Anderson; 3 daughters, Christine (Forrest) Mizell; & Marilyn Anderson both of San Diego, California; & Barbara (Ed Logan) Bledsoe of Corpus Christi; 1 brother, Sylvester Anderson of El Paso; 4 sisters, Velzora Miller of Corpus Christi; Jerilene Kennon & Mildred McKinney both of San Antonio, Texas; & Maxine Lewis of Arlington, Texas; 1 aunt, Lydia Erskine of Seguin, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; & a host of other relatives & friends. Active Pallbearers were his nephews, Charles McKinney, Jr., Steven D. McKinney, Lawrence Miller, Jr., Stanley E. McKinney, Walter Harry Lewis, Jr., Ivory Gerald Kennon, & Sylvester Anderson, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers were Deacons of St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Interment is at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas.
