Jose Guerra Cavazos passed away on a Monday, January 29, 1962 of heart failure. 
A hard working provider who worked for 32 years at the Corpus Christi Cotton 
Oil Mill, a manufacturer of cooking oil and lard. His parents emigrated to the 
United States in 1914 from Mexico when he was a young man of 21 years old in 
search of a better life. They settled in the Port Lavaca/Victoria area. He was 
born in the area of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

He married Manuela Pena in Sinton, TX on Sept. 10, 1915.  She died in Corpus 
Christi, TX on 15 Nov 1959.  

CHILDREN:  Domingo Pena Cavazos (DOB:  22 Apr 1922); Pablo Pena Cavazos (DOB: 
25 Jan 1924); Florinda "Flora" Cavazos-Ceballos (DOB: 17 Dec 1925); Vicente 
Pena Cavazos (DOB: 22 Jan 1928); and Antonia Cavazos-Arriaga (16 Sept 1932).  
All of Corpus Christi, TX.

PARENTS:  Gregorio Cavazos (d. 21 Jan 1930) and Francisca Guerra Cavazos (d. 24 
Jul 1943).  Resided in Victoria, TX and buried in Victoria Cemetery #1.

SISTERS:  Felicida Cavazos Garza of Tivoli, TX (d. 3 Jun 1960); Rosa Cavazos-
Garza of Tivoli, TX (d. June 1973): Andrea Cavazos-Duenez of Port Lavaca, TX 
(d. 19 Oct 1989); Celia Cavazos of Victoria, TX (d. 15 Sept 1971); Ignacia 
Cavazos of Victoria, TX (d. Jan. 1969); and Jacoba Sanchez of Laredo, TX.

BROTHERS:  George G. Cavazos, Port Lavaca, TX; and Manuel G. Cavazos of 
Monterry, Mexico.
