Funeral Program
Home Going Service for Mary Lee Anderson was conducted Saturday 11 May 1991 at 
10:00 AM from Brooks Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 2101 North 
Port, Corpus Christi, TX, with Dr. Richard T. Jenkins officiating.  The life 
book of Mary Lee Anderson was opened 18 March 1932.  She was the 1st child born 
to Clarence Richardson & Georgia Cross Anderson in Yorktown, TX.  She was 
preceded in death by her son, John M. Anderson, Jr.  She accepted Christ at an 
early age.  Mary Lee Richardson was united in holy matrimony to John Marcel 
Anderson, Sr. for 35 years.  She left to mourn her passing her husband, John 
Marcel Anderson, Sr. of Corpus Christi; 2 daughters, Mrs. Clara Haywood; & Ms. 
Janice Johnson both of Austin, TX; 2 sons, D. C. Powell; & Raymond Anderson 
both of Corpus Christi; her mother, Mrs. Georgia Cross of Alice, TX; 1 sister, 
Dorothy Hopkins of Karnes City, TX; 2 sisters, Peggy Green; & Georgia Ann 
Johnson both of Austin; 1 brother, Henry Fisher of Corpus Christi; 5 
grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; & a host of relatives & friends.  Active 
Pallbearers were Fred Robison, Harvey Clark, David Haywood, Clarence Rogers, 
Cliff Woodson, & Phillip Smith.  Honorary Pallbearers were Officers of Brooks 
Chapel A. M. E. Church & friends & family members.  Interment is at Rose Hill 
Memorial Park.  The family received personal care & service with reverence & 
dignity from Unity Chapel Funeral Home, 1207 Sam Rankin Street, Corpus Christi
