Yancey were conducted Thursday 21 June 1984 at 2:00 PM from Saint John Baptist Church located at 5445 Greenwood Drive in Corpus Christi, TX with Rev. Harold T. Branch, officiating. Albert J. Yancey, Sr., son of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Hunter, was born 13 November 1925 in Royce City, Bastrop County, TX. He was reared & educated in Bastrop County. He accepted Christ at an early age. He later moved to Corpus Christi, where he became a member of Saint John Baptist Church. He met & married Essie Mae Davis; to this union 3 children were born; 2 sons, Albert J Yancey, Jr.; Clarence O'Neal; & 1 daughter, Margaret Elizabeth. He later met & married Alberta Pleasant & to this marriage were added 1 step-daughter, Linda Williams; 1 step-son, George LeFridge; & 1 step-grandson, Farrin Williams, all of Corpus Christi. Survivors included 1 son of Austin, TX, 1 son of Norwalk, CA; 1 daughter of Austin; 1 step-son of Bastrop, TX; 5 grandchildren; 1 step-daughter; 1 step-son; & 1 step- grandson all of Corpus Christi. Pallbearers included Leroy Tryon, Elbert Washington, Floyd Williams, Mauricio Chavez, Charles Foster, & Bob McMillan. Honorary Pallbearers included members of Adult Usher Board #2, William Kennemer, Floyd, & Abel Sosa. Arrangements were made by Jackson Flowers Funeral Home. Interment is at Rose Hill Memorial Park
