Funeral Services by Lakewood Funeral Home, Freeport, TX Some of Brother Joe Brumbelow’s comments at the funeral: “James Pevoto graduated from Tennessee Diesel & Automotive Technical College. He was a mechanic by trade. James loved hunting, fishing, and working on old cars. Had a number of friends who thought very highly of him. In September of 1962 James Pevoto professed his faith in Jesus Christ. Brother Johnny Beard, pastor of First Baptist Church, Lake Jackson, baptized him. Recently one of the men in our church, Richard Jackson, visited James Allen in his shop and inquired about his salvation. James assured him that he knew he was saved, that he was not afraid to die…He told his sisters to ‘look after mom and dad.’” For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. -Philippians 1:21; The Bible We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. -2 Corinthians 5:8; The Bible “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” -John 14:1-6; The Bible. Scripture Rev. Joe Brumbelow often used in Funeral Services. A book about Rev.
