Davis, dec’d Probate File 443 Panola Co TX The State of Texas Panola County In County Court Febry Term 1863 To the Hon. Henderson Fyke, Chief Justice, Panola County. Your petitioner Margret Davis, a citizen of Panola County, Texas would, with respect, show to your Hon. That James R. Davis, late a citizen of said Panola County, departed this life about, to wit: 1862, leaving in this County about ______ worth of property which requires an administrator to take charge of and manage the same. Therefore petitioner prays that she be appointed admrx of said Est. as there was no lawful will left by deceased as far as Petitioner has been informed. W.R. Poag, Atty for Petitioner I, Margrett Davis do solemnly swear that James r. Davis Deceased died without leaving any lawful will so far as I know and believe and that I will truly perform all the duties of Administratrix of the estate of the Said James r. Davis Dec’d to the best of my skill and ability, So help me God. Margaret Davis Sworn to and subscribed before me March 13th 1863 The State of Texas Panola County Know all men by these presents that we, Margret Davis as principal and J.W.H. Lindsey and John W. Kirk as Securities are held and firmly bound unto the Chief Justice of Said county in the full sum of twelve hundred Dollars for payment of which sum well and truly to be made. We bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Signed with out hands and sealed with our seals. The Seals being scrawls. This March 21st, 1863. This condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound Margret Davis has been appointed by the Chief Justice of said County, Administratrix of the Estate of James R. Davis, Deceased. Now if the said Margret Davis shall well and truly perform all the duties required of her under said appointment, then this obligation to be null and void.
