Shivers filed a request with the Court that he be granted permission to hire out the slaves so that they could make some money for the estate. 26 Jan 1863 – Report filed with the Court giving hiring arrangements for the year of 1863 Mary & her children to G.B. Roberts - $50 Lydia to G.B. Roberts - $160 Moses to J.M. Shivers - $136 10 Feb 1864 – Report filed with the Court giving hiring arrangements for Jan 1864 – Dec 1864: Lydia to Mrs. S.C. Shivers - $225 Henry, plus Mary and her three children (apparently another child had recently Been born to Mary) - $25 for their meals and clothing 1865 – C.C. shivers petitioned the Court to allow him to rent the land and hire out the slaves for the year of 1865. (No particulars given re the arrangements)
